Founded in December 2009 by beer lovers trying to make work fun again, Clown Shoes has been redefining what craft beer should be. We strive to add our own little creative twists on under-represented styles and styles in need of change.

In late 2017, Clown Shoes joined Mass. Bay Brewing Company, makers of Harpoon and UFO. With the greater resources and capabilities, we have expanded our special release and barrel aging programs with over 25 one-off beers in 2018 alone. Clown Shoes continues to grow and innovate, while keeping our own personality and style to bring you interesting and unique beers.

Can, 0.457l. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, flowers and biscuit. Pours cloudy amber color with medium sized soapy tan-like head, good lacing and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts juicy tropical and stone fruity, following is biscuity, resinous and herbal, mouthfeel is warm, mild spicy and rather dry, while finish is heavy bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Extraterrestrial adventure…

Not bad; coconut and chocolate are prominent without being overbearing, although I’m finding no notes of pepper. Vanilla on the finish. Easy-drinking if a bit wimpy on the heat.

(Can) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, black bread, raisins, liquorice, coconut, vanilla and a touch of orange. Malty, roasted taste with notes of creamy coffee, black bread, dark chocolate, raisins, liquorice, coconut, nuts, vanilla and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, soft and well rounded mouthfeel. Sweet. On the sweet side, but soft, mellow and really tasty. Very nice.

Tasty DIPA, dripping with orange marmalade, peach, mango, and citrus pith, backed up by veins of caramel and resinous pine with a strong bitter finish. Solid pint.

Lemon and pineapple. Pours golden amber with a big head. Quite bitter. Some tree sap, pine bark. A little odd. Comes off more like a red IPA. Bitter, almost astringent end. Don't love this one. Can.
