Bottle shared at THT. Gusher! Hazy golden with huge white head. Quite flowery, soap, glue, milky dough, light red berries, oak, light grapes. Milky sweet with very light bitterness and tartness. Medium bodied with strong fizzy carbonation. 3 Update: had another bottle which was not a gusher, decanted for a bit. This helped the beer a bit, it came out more fruity with apple and white grapes. Still slightly weird alcohol/high esters which are also present in the base beer. It’s not my favorite beer of Haagsche Broeder, but it’s not horrible.

Sampled from bottle at THT March at Kwartje. Gusher. Hazy golden with white head. Sweet malts, very woody, light spices, coriander. Medium sweet and light bitter. Medium body. Way too strong carbonation. /// A day later: Sampled from bottle at Haagsche Broeder brewery during a tour. Hazy golden with white head. Sweet malts, floral notes, nectar, fruity notes, mango, faint onion, wood and resin. Over medium sweet and light bitter. Over medium body, soft feel and strong carbonation. Dry with sweet finish. Much better and a delicate drink.

Sampled from bottle at THT March at Kwartje. Hazy warm amber with thin white head. Sweet malts, honey, vegetal bitter, herbs, coriander, metallic. Medium sweet and light bitter. Doesn’t really hold its aromas together, bit strange and finishes as just sugary.

Bottle shared at THT. Slight hazy orange golden with fizzy off white head. Apple juice, light spicy yeast, alcohol, light grassy, sweet malts. Bit weird, like a bad cider. Light sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Had a fresher bottle. Slightly more fruity hops, especially on the nose. Bit less apple and slightly more malts. I still think most of their experimental brews are better than this, but it’s drinkeable.

Shared from bottle at Maakun’s. Black with tan head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts. Coffee, creamy chocolate. Mild smoke and ash bitterness, burnt match heads. Light sweet and over medium bitter. Medium body and quite strong carbonation for the style. Thin but creamy mouthfeel with nice chocolatey dry and bitter finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Déguste Rookstout on 10 Dec 2017 at 22:11 - Score: 7. Original review text: 3.6
