Bottle courtesy brentfeesh. Apricot, grapefruit, and piney hops, and light caramel malt aroma. Cap came off with an almost explosive pht/whoosh, but didn’t gush. This was weird. Once I poured, then the bottle started to gush, and carbonation in the glass was so vigorous that the head started to grow, and grow and grow. I went to the sink and wiped off the head, but again it grew, and grew.. another trip to the sink. It was pretty ridiculous, and finally had to scoop some of the head out of the glass so I could finally get around to drinking it. Anyway the beer was a hazy honey gold with vigorous carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass. Sweet caramel malt, tropical fruit and spicy (almost peppery) piney hops flavor. Medium body and ridiculously active carbonation. For all the trouble, I sure was glad that it tasted and smelled good, and it did provide a little entertainment on a slow Saturday afternoon.

Draft at J Clyde, Birminghsm AL: Orange peel and lemon peel aroma. clear amber, thin head. Marigold flavor, not strong with subtle orange flesh. orange peel finish. Standard IPA, well done.

On tap at the Nook. Pours a dark orange with a medium, foamy, off-white head. The aroma is wheat, floral and earthy hops, and biscuit dough. The flavor is citrusy sweetness up front with a significant bitterness at the end. The palate is surprisingly heavy, with little carbonation. The mouthfeel is chewy and a little astringent. The finish is long and bitter. Overall, an interesting beer, but it doesn’t really strike me as a saison.

On tap at the Rocket City Brewfest. Pours pale yellow. The aroma is citrus, hay, and apples. The flavor is sweet, with spicy hops and a dusty touch. The palate is thick and sticky. Overall, a refreshing and interesting saison.

On tap at the Nook. Pours a bright orange with a thin and fleeting head. The aroma is floral and citrus hops, with oats and light caramel. The flavor is subdued bitterness, and a nice spicy touch. The palate is medium, a little acidic, and sticky. The finish is relatively clean. Overall, a solid IIPA.

On tap at the Rocket City Brewfest. Pours dark brown with amber highlights. The aroma is candy, dark fruits, vanilla, and alcohol. Very sweet up front, with a long bitter finish. The palate is medium to heavy, smooth, and has very little carbonation. Overall, a fun beer that practically wallows in malts.

On tap at the Rocket City Brewfest. Pours dark brown. The nose is figs and dates, molasses, and notes of whiskey. The flavor is very sweet, and a little spicy. The palate is heavy and sticky, clinging to your throat. Overall, an interesting beer.

On tap at the Mellow Mushroom. Pours a clear, dark gold with a thin beige head. The aroma is pine sap, grapefruit, apricots, and caramel. The flavor is a clean and constant bitterness with a small sweet backing. The palate is fairly light, smooth and a little acidic. Overall, a surprisingly good IPA, with huge bitterness, yet still delicious and smooth.

On tap at the Nook. Pours a dark brown with a slight amber hue. The head is fairly thick, filmy and beige. The aroma is nuts, apples, orange peels, and caramel. The flavor is a tangy sweetness upfront with a mild lingering bitter finish. The palate is medium to heavy, fairly carbonated and crisp. Overall, a nice beer. Nothing special, but well done.

On tap at the Nook. Pours a hazy orange with an ample head. The aroma is oranges, lemons, wheat and spices. The flavor is very sweet and tart. The palate is medium and astringent with a slight bitter finish. Overall, a good beer, much lighter and more citrusy than most tripels; more of a witbier.
