Draft at the brewery. Poured a dark brown color, some light ruby notes to it, not totally opaque, still some translucence here. Small off-white, light tan color head. Aroma was lots of sweet malts... malt bomb. I don’t notice any of the alcohol in this one though, which made it pretty easy and smooth to drink.

Draft at Virginia IPA Challenge at Capital Alehouse Harrisonburg VA: Grapefruit and lemon nose. Clear amber, medium head. Grapefruit, maraschino cherries, pineapple. Slightly vegetal, ash finish. Medium body, easy carbonation. Good recipe, flawed execution.

On tap at Black Squirrel’s NKOTB event pours a cloudy, neon yellow with a ring of head. Nose is gross, cleaning fluid, fake orange, straw. Flavor is oddly even worse with heavy industrial notes, big acetic acid and fake citrus. Wow, way off.

On tap at Black Squirrel pours a hazy amber with a ring of white head. Big clove nose, candy, booze, rotting tropical fruit. Flavor is sweet candy, boozy, lychees, pear brandy. Boozy finish.

A little better than the sweet version, but still a little rough. Some roast here. Some sweet smell. Less of the garbage aroma than the sweet innocence. Pours same light cloudy brown colour. Tap at brewpub.

I’m not sure what the idea is here, but this is kind of a mess. Slight aroma of garbage. Some vanilla. Light mahogany pour, with ok head or lacing. No roast and some unfermented sugar. Tap at brewpub.

Not bad, and definitely the best beer I’ve tried from these guys. Amber pour with good head and lacing. Light malt here, with some citrus and light pine. Light bitter finish with some sweetness. Tap at brewpub.
