Bottle from Albertsons, re-labeled as a session wheat ale... pretty accurate description. Light gold pour at first, gets cloudy on the third pour. Nose is bright, grassy, floral, citrus, and pale malt. Lively hop bitters and a bit of citrus sweetness. Wheat and grassy too. I was surprised with this one, definitely exceeded my expectations.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out an orange amber, already starting to question the Saison classification. Malt shines through the aroma and follows in taste, reminding me more of a weizen, bubblegum and clove. Definitely weizen, but too light bodied. Saison, no, wheat ale, maybe.

Bottle. Chestnut brown with a thin beige head. Cocoa and light spice in the nose, somewhat sweet. Roast and bittersweet cocoa emerge in the taste, along with a little more spice. Clean finish. Nice winter ale.

22 oz bottle from Boise Co-op. Murky brown pour with very small airy head. Dark malt dominates the aroma, elements of porter, brown and English Strong ales readily apparent. Minor hints of molasses apparent in the taste, some fruitiness, but malt still rules. Dry and chalky mouthfeel, no signs of the 8.6% ABV. Would not put this in the spice/herb/vegetable category.

On tap at fresh hop fest. Pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is grassy hops earth tones. Taste is light citrus hops earth and some bread.

On tap at fresh hop fest. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is roast malts pine tips and some grapefruit. Taste is more of the roast malts a pine and grapefruit pithy bitterness on the end.

Draft @ Beer wars. Copper colored with a finger of creamy beige head. Herbal and rye spice in the nose, some citrus and pine. Lightly bitter and herbal taste. I like citrus and pine with the spicy nature of the rye it works well here. Kinda surprised the scores aren’t higher for this one.

On tap at beer wars. Pours out a hazy golden copper topped with a small white head. Nose is rye malts pine and some bitter hops. Taste is more of the rye malt pine and grapefruit pithy bitterness on the end.

Bottle from brewery. Slightly hazy golden pour with abundant fluffy head. Nose has some lemony citrus aroma, kind of out of free. Taste also favors the malt bill, giving the whole presentation a touch more lager essence than should be there. Not enough hops crispness at the finish for a true pilsener. Sure looks good though,,,,

On Tap hazy deep orange light amber color dense off-white head, creamy and lasting. Strange combination. Well done, I guess. Not sure. Best coffee IPA I’ve ever had...that’s for sure. Clean and soft. The carbonation was blow out abit on the pour.
