Again, huge thanks to RenoMostar and the guys at the brewery for this! Would you look at that - most ex-Yu brewers don’t dare to put a regular Black IPA out, and Oldbridž starts with a rye twist on that - daring, and that’s to be respected - hats off! Murky dark brown body, creamy small tan head. A bit lactic, caramelly nose, some raisins, mixed with subtle notes of aroma hops, some mild alcohol too. Quite roasty, notes of coffee I reckon, creamy, dark malts, some orange-like aromatics blending in. Very interesting stuff happening here, but it’s too subdued unfortunately. You just can’t tell it’s 8.5%, another plus. I hope people like it there so that they can safely introduce more experiments! Rerate: The other bottle gave out a much stronger, enormously citric hopiness in both aroma and taste that overwhelmed the rest. Quite pleasant & +1 overall & aroma.

Huge thanks to Reno for bringing this from Mostar (and to the brewery guys too!). Poured a full misty golden body with a tiny white head. Full, sweet malt-driven nose, slightly spicy, slightly dry and tart. The taste doesn’t thrill either, notes of (proper) orange juice, mild, some light tartness... Eh, needs more body, needs more flavors... it might somehow be an off bottle, we’ll see. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that this brewery’s experimentation where it is is something much, much appreciated!

Rerate at June ’15. "Ima i moze" festival. Hazy caramel colored with average head. Fine caramel, berries and sharp lemon and grass aroma. Flavor was bittersweet, a little bit of coffee, some caramel - in between roasted and toasted actually. Medium bodied with long caramel and coffee finish with quite some amount of hops to dry it out. Obviously a pleasant beer when in shape, judging by the ratings it is not a little bit too often.
Original rating:
0.33 l bottle Marko forwarded to this Slovak&Croatian tasting, thanks a lot! It poured hazy red body with medium sized head. Stale volatile aroma, some citrus in it. Lightly sour, stale flavor, some other weird things. I was sure it’s off and didn’t write more into details, while others insisted it’s alright and meant to be such. So I will leave my rating like this and wait for another bottle to see what actually happens here, I guess this will be their regular.

0.33 l bottle Marko forwarded to this Slovak&Croatian tasting, thanks a lot! It poured clear golden body with medium sized head. Little bit of hops in aroma, mostly biscuit and fruity malts, typical for the style. Flavor was a bit weak, lightly sweet biscuity and also touched with citrus and peppery hops. Thin bodied overall, but fine bitterness in the finish saves the impression of a plain malty pale ale. Not bad, but more important, really nice to see such stuff from Bosnia&Herzegovina!

Rerate: Thanks to the Oldbridž guys for sending these to try to the Split crew (and a keg for the party). Dark brown body, ok slightly off white head. Aroma... caramel, bubblegum, sweet. Nice. Creamy, vaguely roasty, very caramelly taste, ending dry and malty. Ok, but not as thrilling as some of their other beers. Old rating, before they fixed their issues. Huge thanks to Davor (400d) for sending this to us! Poured a dark brown body with a thick, huge lasting off white head. Smoky aroma, bacon? Light raisins. Mild smoky taste, light smoked ham, slightly nutty, mild malty notes, bit off but still quite interesting. If this is intended to be a smoked beer, nice try, but more work needed. 7/4/5/3/13

Big thank you to Marko, who kindly shared with us this beer. Almost black color with medium off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, raisins, smoke. Taste, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel. Alcohol is dangerously hidden. Not so strong in taste as Imperial stouts usually are, but still nice, enjoyable beer.

Huge thanks to Davor for sending one of these! Um, we weren’t supposed to open it until the 19th, but 6.6. seemed like an appropriate date. :) Black, off white head. Smokey, grainy aroma, light raisins... very nice. Oof... definitely overcarbonated, but not much, good, heavy malty backbone, roasty, nice herbal notes, somewhat mild taste. A nice beer indeed. Great seeing what these guys dare to do in Bosnia.

Bottle. Aroma hoppy, fruity. Clear golden colour. Taste lacks in hop flavour. Enough bitterness, but mostly dull, grassy. Leaves a weird half-sour grassy finish.

Rerated at the 2015 Ima i Može craft beer festival. This one was good even the first time I had it infected, clean like this now that they’ve changed the fermentors, it’s a fine, slightly toasty malt driven ale, not extremely complex but very well executed. 2014, infected bottle: Another one courtesy of Davor (400d). Poured a red-amber body with an off whtie htick head, medium-small that went away slowly. Interesting distinctly phenolic spicy aroma, slightly tart. Ok, this is, reading the other reviews, definitely off... Yeah, rosemary in the taste, phenols, pretty nice though. One of those beers where "going bad" might’ve actually helped. Will rerate one day. 5/4/6/3/13
