12 ounce handbottle courtesy of Immy via TheBeerSommelier. Thanks Tim and Matt! Pours a very dark brown color. A faint hiss as I opened the bottle, but no head. Aroma of chocolate, light roast, banana, caramel, raisin. Taste is roasted malts, grapes, banana, chocolate. Full bodied. Quite nice.

Hazy, vibrant amber. Nice lacing. Herbal, bright (simcoe?) hops and decent backing malts. Rich, deep bitterness with slight grapefruit and orange notes. Dry, but slightly sticky finish.

Bright, light brown. Fun nose - ginger, molasses, subtle clove, nutmeg, mace. Very appetizing. More harsh, though, on the palate with astringency from the abundant spice. Thankfully, there’s a nice molasses note underneath to help out.

Almost black with reddish notes. Straightforward roasty stoutiness on the nose. Complex, sweet molasses, bitter chocolate, nice espresso accent. Creamy mouthfeel, dry finish. Nice stuff.

Bright, slightly brownish amber colour. Nice lacing. Very nutty aroma. Mildly nutty on the palate also has some caramel. Underwhelming. The magic of mild is so difficult to translate.

Slightly hazy golden straw. Fresh 2-row nose is slightly doughy. Soft, herbal hop and gentle bitterness throughout, with doughy pale malts. Good for the type.

This IPA is a clear deep amber brew that throws up a long lasting off-white head. A touch of sourness noted in the aroma is a bit off, but there are some good hops in there too. The flavor balance is to the bitter side from start to finish. Not bad, but a tweak or two would improve this greatly. Definitely worth trying all of the Twain’s brews again as they settle into their routine at this newer Decatur Ga brewpub.
