Description
As a family-owned brewery, Candia Road Brewing Company’s mission is to brew a wide range of styles for all to enjoy. To gather friends - old and new. To treat all patrons like family, and to create lasting memories each day.
In 2011, CRBC opened as a homebrew shop and two-barrel system brewery. As the first nano license in New Hampshire we were pioneers of the local nano-brew movement. Under the brand name Nepenthe Ales, CRBC produced 22 ounce, bottle conditioned beer with distribution in NH craft beer shops, major supermarkets, and several restaurants.
In 2018, with a larger brewing capacity, the switch to 16 ounce cans was made as the local craft beer scene evolved, and the site was renovated with a new taproom with draught beers, pub food, and original music performers every Sunday.

Draft taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival. Appearance is cloudy milky yellow, no discernible sparkle, little cap of white head. Aroma is strong citrus, milder grapefruit. Taste is citrus and grapefruit. Palate is light bodied, with thin, smooth texture, soft-to-average carbonation and citric acid bite with some spiciness and finish as taste. Overall, some citrus, fruit and spice--that's what it is. Not complex but enjoyable.

Can from a Lazy Dog Solid black color with a thin tan head, Licorice earth roast caramel and hints of chocolate and light dark dried fruit. Licorice and hop bitterness are dominant. Pretty nicely made stout.

Can from a Lazy dog, two months old. Pours a mostly clear light golden color with a decent sized frothy white head that persists. Bready light caramel mostly on the nose with some faint earthy citrus hops. Pretty heavy malt presence is a bit of a shock to my palette. Feels like the craft beer 90's in a can. Pretty tasty overall.

Can from a Lazy Dog Hazy lemon yellow with a white head that is thin and dissipates quickly. True to its name there is subtle banana on the nose. Lemony earthy and somewhat tart with some light funk is more of what this beer is about. Canned 4/24/18 either it isn't holding up too well or it wasn't great to begin with or some infection has taken hold.

Can from a Lazy dog Slightly hazy brown with bits of red at the edges. Lots of caramel and hints of chocolate with bits of earthy hops and light fruitiness to counter. Light astringency. Pretty decent for a brown ale.

Taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival. Appearance is opaque black with thin ring of light brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, hints of chocolate, dark fruits perhaps. Taste is roasted malt but there is a tart heaviness here. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and mild roasted malts but dominated by a tart quality finish. Overall, something went amiss here. The tart quality does not belong and isn't good. Didn't finish.

Taster pour at Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival. Appearance is cloudy dark brown, with finger-width beige head with good retention, lacing. Aroma is vaguely sweet, caramel, nuts. Taste is surprisingly fruity (grape?), and bready more than caramel; nuts. A little odd for a nut brown. Palate is medium bodied with watery texture, flat-to-soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a pretty "unique" (or odd, depending on your perspective) fruit quality but otherwise the usual suspects are here. Fairly average.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Hannaford, Raymond. Appearance is cloudy light orange/dark yellow with trace sparkle, finger-width foamy white head with poor retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is brown sugar, sweet malts, with fruity, citrusy hops, some faint basement dankness. Taste is citrusy orange with slight sourness over malt backbone. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and mix of sweet and bitter finish with light sour tinge. Overall, aroma and taste shine while appearance and palate pale (no pun intended) by comparison.
