Description
As a family-owned brewery, Candia Road Brewing Company’s mission is to brew a wide range of styles for all to enjoy. To gather friends - old and new. To treat all patrons like family, and to create lasting memories each day.
In 2011, CRBC opened as a homebrew shop and two-barrel system brewery. As the first nano license in New Hampshire we were pioneers of the local nano-brew movement. Under the brand name Nepenthe Ales, CRBC produced 22 ounce, bottle conditioned beer with distribution in NH craft beer shops, major supermarkets, and several restaurants.
In 2018, with a larger brewing capacity, the switch to 16 ounce cans was made as the local craft beer scene evolved, and the site was renovated with a new taproom with draught beers, pub food, and original music performers every Sunday.

On tap at the source with Paul Dark brown black in color with a thin tan head that persists. Rich chocolate and roasted grains with hints of dark dried fruit. Creamy mouthfeel but a hint thin on the body. Pick of the day.

On tap at the source with Paul. Mostly clear deep yellow color with a good sized fluffy white head that persists. Bready crackery maltiness, floral spicy hops. Light astringency. Not bad.

Brewery draught, 7/2/22. Amber, clear, small, off-white head. Soft and fruity with little/no spruce notes in the nose. Just yellow fruit and light specialty malts. No alcohol or flaw. In the mouth, sweet malts (cake, honey, graham cracker) quickly transition to a Christmasy spruce flavor that gets spicier and provides good acidic balance. It never gets overpowering or astringent and leaves a balanced finish with fruit, malt and gentle spruce. Really, really nice balance here.

Brewery draught, 7/3/22. Clear, brass-golden with soft peach hues. Small, well-retained, white head. Spicy mint oil, lemon peel, apricot and moderately biscuity malt. No resin, low yeast ester and good malting. Soft and spicy in the mouth with a lighter body and somewhat abrupt finish. Hop is interesting adding lemon peel, peach/apricot, mint and other herbs. Quick, honey-and-white bread malt interlude leading to a short, minimally bitter finish.

Brewery draught, 7/2/22. Moderately hazy, soft peach-golden with a small, but fairly well-retained, white head. Really interesting nose shows light tropical fruit and some cedar with wintergreen and tangerine behind it. Sparse, cracker-like malts, clean yeast and no alcohol, resin or flaw. Super interesting flavors of prominent cedar leading in to softer vanilla on the finish. Coconut-like notes emerge, almost like you'd get from bourbon aging. Light but ample bitterness, a chewy, well-malted and well-attenuated body. Very interesting hop (the HBC), would like to see it used in more things.

Brewery draught, 7/2/22. Clear, deep golden with a large, well-retained, white head atop. Nose is spicy/herbal hop, light mineral and maybe a hint of corn fermentation biproduct (wax/glue). In the mouth, it shows a bit more of this sort of glue-like flavor, adding sharpness and blandness to the otherwise well-malted, well-attenuated lager. Herbs, minerals, white bread and light honey with no alcohol noted.

Can from the source. Lightly hazy pale yellow with a small frothy white head that slowly recedes. Crackery bready pilsner maltiness. Earthy spicy hops and a hint of apple. Faint astringency but really decent lager.
