Description
As a family-owned brewery, Candia Road Brewing Company’s mission is to brew a wide range of styles for all to enjoy. To gather friends - old and new. To treat all patrons like family, and to create lasting memories each day.
In 2011, CRBC opened as a homebrew shop and two-barrel system brewery. As the first nano license in New Hampshire we were pioneers of the local nano-brew movement. Under the brand name Nepenthe Ales, CRBC produced 22 ounce, bottle conditioned beer with distribution in NH craft beer shops, major supermarkets, and several restaurants.
In 2018, with a larger brewing capacity, the switch to 16 ounce cans was made as the local craft beer scene evolved, and the site was renovated with a new taproom with draught beers, pub food, and original music performers every Sunday.

Can from the source. Hazy light straw with a thin white head that dissipates almost instantly. Horrible sulfur aroma when the can is first cracked and the beverage poured. Aired out it is mostly gone. Lime spice and saline aroma and flavor. not horrible

Bottle from the source. Deep golden color with a touch of haze and a fluffy white head that persists. Earthy spicy yeasty honey maltiness with bits of jammy grape to counter. Not much barrel evident but its a nice brew.

Taster pour at Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival. Appearance is opaque yellow-orange (like orange juice) with thin cap of white head with decent retention, no sparkle. Aroma is lot of herb balanced by sweet fruit. Taste is strong and follows aroma. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with frothy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste without much bitterness. Overall, decent. A little on the herby side but some fruitiness as well so a bit interesting.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from The City, Plaistow NH. Appearance is cloudy dark brown/mahogany with no discernible sparkle, finger-width foamy beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, brown bread, earth. Taste is as aroma but bolder. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste with mix of sweet and bitter roasted malts. Overall, was nervous with this one due to its elderly nature--born 6/5/18--but decided to take a chance due to low hop profile. Seems pretty in line with others. Nice aroma, flavor; a bit overcarbonated.

Can from the brewery two months old. Brilliantly clear deep golden color with a thin short lived bubbly white head. Bready pilsner toasty maltiness with a bit of fruitiness and a light astringency. Not bad.

Can from the source. Hazy pink tinged orange with a small head that dissipates almost instantly. Lots of lime on the nose, hints of fruity cranberry. Light pucker in the mouth. Could be more tart but pretty tasty.
