Description

Gott

Small darker white head over cold hazed copperish beer. Sharp fruitjuice nose with lots of syrup, caramel, concentrated sweet wine. Reminds me of the fruitsyrup acetic lambics of old. Taste has more of the same, but milder on the syrup side, the concentrate more in the fruit; old winebarrels. Sharp, really burning MF, syrupy texture, good carbonation. Not exactly my type of beer. Renaissance of De Troch Chapeau Gueuze?

Bottle from a gift basket - many thanks! Pours clear red with a lasting, thin, pink head. Aroma of sour & sweet cherry, red apple, sour milk, yoghurt, cherry jam, wood, vinegar. Taste has sweet & sour cherry & jam wrapped in a yoghurty, milky, wheaty sour profile, estery accent of red apple in the back. Tart, woody, fruity finish, note of vinegar but cherry has the final say along a soft alcohol warmth. Medium body, fluffy texture, fizzy carbonation. Very enjoyable, refreshing and 'intelligent' Kriek in some way.
