Shiroyama Pale Ale 5.5% On tap at Beer Komachi. It pours a clear copper gold with a fluffy light beige head. It has a juicy citrusy aroma. Med-light bodied with a palate cleansing carbonation. Shiroyama Biwacha Pale Ale / pale Ale biwa tea blend 5.5% it pours a crystal clear copper gold with a lovely biwa and citrusy hop aroma. The taste is more of a bitter earthy green hop bite with just hints of biwa fruits in the finish and possibly a dash of tea notes as well. Medium bodied with a sandy mouthfeel. Overall it is ok but after the light fruity nose I am a bit let down by the pretty standard pale ale flavor. As it warms up it gives a bit more biwa tea flavor, it’s alright.

Shiroyama Kokutou stout 5% it pours a dark brown with ruby highlights and a filmy beige head. A sweet stout aroma with some lactose savoury chocolate. Med-light bodied verging on watery with a sharp carbonation. The taste is sweet creamy chocolate, a bit of dark pitted fruits and possibly a hint of licorice. Quite solid.

Tap at Dig Beer Bar, Osaka. Amber color, tiny off-white head, lace. Aroma is light but I get malts, caramel and berries. Light-bodied. Malty and dry, some earthy hops. Dry spiceyness, is it tea? Also some unclean notes. Below par.

Tap at Dig. Lovely plum nose, dry and fruity, some crackers. Golden cloudy pink with a fine head. Nice flavors. Slightly sweet fruit, sumomo, dry crackers. Very dry finish. Light hops. Refreshing and delicious on a hot summer day.
