As Chateau Kamiya Pilsner, 500ml bottle from the brewery. Clear gold with a fizzy white head that vanished fast. The aroma is dusty Pilsner malt and a herbal noble hop bite. Medium in body with grassy green hoppiness and soda read Pilsner malt character. Quite pleasant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottl from the brewery. Chateau Kamiya Ushiku White 5% A lightly opaque gold with a filmy white head. I thought it was a witbier so the bright lime citrusy hop bouquet complemented by wheat took me by surprise. I guess it is more of an American Wheat. The beer has a medium to light body and dry zesty citrus character with soda bread maltiness. I paired it with a yuzu macaron, which drew out the lime and citrus notes which made it quite bright and easy drinking. Great little pairing, since coming to Japan and discovering Sadaharu Aoki's macaroni I've becoming partial to them. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Chateau Kamiya Helles 5% 500ml bottle just 700¥ from the brewery via Rakuten. Deep gold with a thick eggshell white head of foam that lingers and leaves tons of soap foam looking lacing behind. The aroma is a bitter earthy herbal hoppiness with some freshly risen bread sweet malt notes. Full bodied and dry. The taste is a bit too sweet in my opinion, sweet cornbread or tortilla flour then a dry herbal finish. Solid aroma but the taste was a letdown for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A black saison on tap at Craft Beer Picnic. A deep brown verging on black with a beige head and a roasty chocolate bun aroma. Medium to light bodied and dry. The taste is zesty fruits and crisp chocolate. As it warms you get a nutty bready chocolate character. Pretty good and I now read that it seems to be made with the yeast they cultivated from cherry blossoms...

Tap at Craft Beer Picnic 2017 as Chateau kamiya Aki Agari

Amber red-brown in color with a medium raspy body. A bready somewhat smoky aroma. The taste is biscuity and nutty but balanced. I'd say it is a Vienna lager or maybe an Oktoberfest type. Quite good.

Tap at BeefFest Tokyo. A saison with big American hops. Great hop nose, spicy, citrus, saison yeast, slightly spicy, bitter finish. Well balanced with nice fruity hops.

Tap at Nakanoshima. Lemony nose, dry malt, a touch phenolic. Malty. Cloudy golden orange color. Clean malt flavor, Belgian yeast, some esters. Nice stuff.

Keyaki fall 2016. Lots of zesty citrus on the nose. Citrusy with some pepper than a rush of bitterness on the finish. Decent but a bit to bitter.

Keyaki fall 2016. Malt-forward nose with some light earthy hops. A little bit dusty on the palate with some light graininess. Earthy, dry bitter finish. Kind of a disappointment.
