330 ml bottle from Suvaco in Kyoto Station. Rather weird nose of gummy bears, lemon, a bit of eggplant actually, and some rice. Almost like roasted eggplant. Pale gold, hazy. Flavor is light, lemony, ricy. Don’t really taste strongly of eggplant, really, but it is there (since I know to look for it). Maybe a touch of eggplant pickles. It isn’t disgusting, but it isn’t very good either. Light, slippery body, low to medium carbonation. Mostly like a lemony, poorly made witbier. Not recommended, but drinkable.

Bottle from Isetan. Nicely hoppy nose, pine resin, citrus, earth, very resinous, with some caramel and cherry. Wow. Surprised from them. Cloudy reddish brown with a low, thick head. Quite hoppy, greapefruit and pine. Rather decent malt, caramel, minerals, edns up watery, probably on account of the rice. Very bitter and minerally. This is actually pretty good. They never had hops in a beer like this before.

Can at kyoto station. Straight from can. I think very pale color with bubbly head. Aroma is weirf somehow resembling sake with apple and pear and some floral tones, light bitterness in the finish. Thin watery texture sustained carbonation dry finish. Peculiar at least but not really appealing.

Can from lawson as Kizakura kyoto pale ale for 320 yen. Golden color fine white head persisrent and lacing. Light haze. Aroma is uncertain ale a bit sour vaguely fruity, it would not be surprising if they used sake yeast. Light body creamy texture light bitter carbonated extra dry finish.

33cl bottle from eDrinks, Tallinn. Pours slightly hazy golden with a small, but dense, white head. Mild grainy aroma with some strange fruity-like and slightly earthy notes and hints of yeast. Medium sweet with fairly low flavour intensity and a quite light bitterness. A bit strange and not too pleasant, but somehow drinkable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kyoto Bakushu Yamada Nishiki (京都麦酒 山田錦) on 07 Oct 2016 at 18:29 - Score: 5
