Tap from the Atsugi stand at the Kanagawa Beer Fest at Yokohama Brewery. Cloudy golden/light amber colour, big white head. Aroma is classic saison, herbal, bit grainy, also quite fruity, strawberry, bit of citrus, Belgian yeasty. Taste is good. Very drinkable, nice candy sweetness, herbal again, lots of fruit. Bit like one of those fruit salad sweets. Pineapple, and peach but artificial in a good way. Pretty tasty. Maybe a touch too strong and full on to be saison style refreshing but still pretty nice.

From the Atsugi stand at the Kanagawa beer fest at the Yokohama brewery. Real Ale version. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is lots of hops. Some maltiness too, but mainly citrus hops. Taste is similar, feels quite boozy. Citrus, bit of caramel malt. Nice bitterness at the finish. Fairly flat, guess that is the real ale element. Quite nice though.

Keg at Thrash Zone Meatballs - Yomohama. Pours unclear orange with a slim, creamy topping. The aroma holds ripening citrus, melon, oily pine, bread, mandarin orange. Medium to big sweet flavour with lots of ripe, jammy citrus, a little booze, bread, pine, mango. Full bodied, lightly carbonated, and oily and chewy. Warming and resinous to close, with further notes of ripe and jammy citrus, mango, strawberry, pale bread, moderate piney bitterness. Fun stuff, if a little heavy handed.

Fall Keyaki 2015. Hazy orange with a small off-white head that lingers. Big aromas of orange, grapefruit and iyokan with some faint malt. Good bitterness that hides the alcohol fairly well. Good malt sweetness on the palate with big citrus flavors. Fairly bitter finish. A very solid Imperial IPA. Not as good as Shiga’s House IPA or Y Market’s Demolition, but solid. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hop Slave Double IPA on 21 Sep 2015 at 17:54 - Score: 8

Keyaki Fall 2015. Ruby red with a nice pink head that lingers. Lots of raspberry, some yogurt and soft funk on the nose. Fairly sweet and boozy with some light funk but strong raspberry flavor. Lightly bitter finish. The booze really comes out as it warms. --- Beer merged from original tick of Framboise on 21 Sep 2015 at 17:51 - Score: 7

Tap at 1020. A Belgian Ale with Ginger, tumeric, persimmon leaves, and several other things I don’t know the translation for. Deep orange, hazy, low head. Herbal, spicy nose, stone fruit, oranges. first flavor is ripe apricots and stewed peaches. Starts lovely, then it gets more interesting. Grassy, then herbal, then spicy, then very medicinal. Crazy stuff. It is fun, but a small glass is more than enough. Tastes like Chinese medicine, an I have a feeling he is trying to re-create something from that genre. Not nearly as bad as it could have been.

hazy yellow color. Pineapple juice, creamy oatmeal 8in nose. Med body. Malty. Lingering pineapple finish. Should be a lighter body for summer, but still decent.

Tap at 1020. Very lovely raspberry nose with a bit of yogurt, cream, and light funk. Pretty, cloudy pink-red-salmon color with a tight head. Somewhat bitter and astringent flavor. It’s not quite horse blanket, and not very sour, but funky in a not so great way. Light cream, taste raspberries but has an unpleasant harshness.

On tap at Beer Keyaki spring 2014. Still no hop slave. A clear light copper gold pour with a thick foamy off-white head. The condition the beer has been served in here are quite good. Surprisingly malty with mild citrus & pine needles aroma. Medium to light bodied, it has a clean green earthy pine bitterness. Easy to drink, a solid IPA.
