On tap at the brewery. Typical dry, roasted aroma. Secent malt flavor: dry, burnt and slightly sour. Pretty good balance. Not special, but okay. Maybe the best of a very mediocre selection.

At the brewery on tap. Very sweet, fruity, honey flavor, with something medicinal going on in there as well. Drinkable, but it has a strange strange aftertaste as well. Not very good.

Draught at the brewpub. Golden with a bronze tint. Fine, low head. Cascade rules the nose. Nice, clean and spice citrus aroma with light bready malts. Light body, nice hop flavor, light crisp malt. Well done, much better than in 2008.

On tap at the brewery. Sweet Amber malt. Strong bitter side as well. Caramel and chocolate. Rich but it has a very funky bite. Seems like something had gone off in here.

Draught at the brewery. I just don’t see the fuss about T.Y. Harbor. Great place, but the beer needs improved. This pale was one of the most boring beers I’ve had. Nothing exciting going on. I was just happy that the metallic flavor wasn’t anywhere to be found. I don’t mean to tear apart a craft brewery, but I think this place is over-hyped.

Draught at the brewery. Found this one to be the best of the bunch. I was surprised at the amount of roasted malts and coffee bitterness in this amber. That damn metallic taste is present in this as well- what’s with that? Flavor has a bit of a milky aftertaste that was interesting. I could have more of this, but it’s still just sorta there.

Draught at the brewery. I couldn’t get over the rather strong and annoying metallic taste in this, otherwise boring, wheat ale. While it’s not bad it’s nothing I’ll remember.

This was the winner for me at Popeye’s Strong Ale Festival. Finally a beer from these guys not infected. I knew it would taste good if they didn’t have an infection. Beautiful deep abmer color. Creamy, off white head. Fresh cut whole wheat bread mixed with finely chopped fresh hops. Malty start to the mouth, oranges, apples, cinnamon, all spice, apple pie. Very low carbonation and a smooth body. Alcohol is well hidden with a warming finish. Top notch stuff.

Deep Amber color, cotton candy, apples and oranges in the nose (it has promoise, no infection!!). The mouth starts hoppy with grapefruits, but I found malt character was lacking and lacked depth. Snappy hoppy finish. OK, but not so interesting 3.1 in 2005 13 yrs later I decided to revisit m. Fairly murky brown color. Nice resiny pine and grapefruit notes with some toffee undertones. Aggressive bitterness. Over carbonated and a bit simple but pleasant enough. Rating reflects new score
