Bottle from Hangar on the Wharf before the Alaskan Brewing Company’s festivities of dishing out their Kvass with BrewDogs.
This one was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent hazy amber to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that left some sporadic messy lacing here and there.
The smell had a dampened and somewhat rich caramel roasted maltiness. Eventually as it warmed, there was a light herbal and almost earthy weirdness coming through.
The taste was mainly sweet but through the caramel entranced maltiness. As it warmed, there was a light toasty/nuttiness trying to come through.
On the palate, this one sat right about a medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. The carbonation was decent for the style and okay to me. It was nothing bad, but nothing outstanding.
Overall, decent amber ale to have again, probably not one to seek out.

Tap at the 2014 OBF. Pours sort of hazy pink/peach with a white head. Aroma is clearly raspberry. Med body or nearly. Flavor is raspberry arguably rolled by honey, finishing with a wheaty aspect. Ends mildly tart/sour with light berry. Drier than not. Actually seems a bit complex.

On tap at Brewster’s in Calgary it is avclrar golden color with a slight head. The aroroma is malty with the taste of slightly bitter grain that is thin

Every time I had this beer, I had it in a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent somewhat transparent amber color. I could see the carbonation rising within and filling a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. The lacing was somewhat there but just kinda went all over the place.
The smell tried to be hoppy, but more or less showed bitterness for the sake of bitterness.
The taste tried to be bitter and sweet, but the sweetness seemed more authentic than the bitter part of it.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium and showed a decent sessionable quality about it.
Overall, I wish I found a date on this one and a date of consumption as I might be willing to try this again just for bottling purposes.

Every time I had this beer, I had it in a pint glass.
The appearance was a decent orange brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated leaving a decent lacing sticking finely to the sides of the glass.
The smell tried to be hoppy bitter, but was basically just bitter to be bitter.
The taste was bitter at times and then it showed some sweetness to it as it ran back and forth. There was no aftertaste nor was there any finish.
On the palate, it sat a light to medium in body with a decent sessionable quality to it.
Overall, this was a basic AIPA and most likely one I probably won’t revisit.

The smell had some corn and rice with a delicate breadiness running about it.
The taste was mainly sweet and offered a bit to be desired.
On the palate, it sat fairly light and offered a decent sessionable quality about it.
Overall, I say this was just a decent beer and nothing to go all out in seeking out. This is your basic average blonde ale.

22oz bottle pours a watery but opaque black with some foamy, off white head. Nose has some muted coffee, stale malt, toast... pretty much it. Flavor is lightly sweet, malty, mild coffee, mild bread.
