bottle(thanks Wes!) at Morrie’s tasting(12Nov10)pours hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is grassy with lots of resinous fresh hop cone notes. Flavor is balanced well, toast, some bitter pale malts ending with bitter grassy hops.

Bottle at DC local tasting. Bright amber orange color, large off white head. Dectnly bitter IPA, not too exciting, but not boring either. Very drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of Tarheels86 at the first DC tasting of 2010. Dark maroon color with a cocoa-cola style head that fizzes briefly and disappears. Aroma of chocolate milk and vanilla. Malts dominate the flavor, lots of alcohol, but a bit thin on body. Decent coffee and chocolate combo, but not a great example of the style.

22oz bottle sampled at the DC local tasting. Smells like vegetables and coffee. One person at the tasting said it smells, "like poop." WHOA, tastes infected. Tart, vegetables, cherries, brett, spices, coffee. None of it marries very well. Finish is thin. A big, big miss.

Nutty but like their other beers, has a prominent fresh mashy graininess. Clean fermentation profile.

Very cloudy, grainy with some phenols but not alot of hefeweizen character.

Nose featured a little buttery diacetyl, sweaty and a little grainy, but like fresh mash grain. Flavor had hints of chocolate and roast, with a light semi-dry finish.

Tap at the brewpub. Light smoke aroma but on first sip was huge hops! Piney, citric, with a long strongly bitter hoppy finish. Only hints of smoke behind this. Considered as some kind of combo of IIPA and rauchbier, I’d say the components clash.

on tap-pours a off white head and amber color. Aroma is sweet caramel/nutty-medium malt, slight earthy hops. Taste is sweet caramel/nutty-medium malt, slight earthy hops. Cask has a predominance of cocoa powder.
