bottle from Braufactum. Clear pale yellow, large white head. Citrusy hoppy nose. Light-bodied, solid malty base with lots of citrusy hopy, that also have a grassy touch. Yes, it tastes like an IPA, not like a Kölsch at all. Very nice beer.

bottle from Braufactum. Clear deep chestnut-golden colour, mid-sized white head. Malty nose with a tiny touch of caramel. Rather light-bodied and thin for the strenght, not as full-bodied and malty as I expected, the carbonation is quite high. Shy malty base with hints of caramel, nut and dried dark fruit, shy hoppy finish. Ok, but for the price of this you could buy 5 Märzen-style beers from Bavaria, which would be at least as good at this.

The beer is really not cheap, a 0,33l bottle is 18 euro. Looks a bit different than the other BraufactuM bottles, no front label, printed on the bottle, normal back label. But looks very, very good. Beer in the glass is dark brown, zippy, almost no head. Very alcoholic aroma. Starts very strong, again alcoholic, malty, not too roasty, also rusty and earthy. The alcoholic notes get more and more soapy. Also some hints of caramel and dried fruits. Fiery finish, still very strong and malty, not as intense alcoholic as the beginning. Warming aftertaste. Remembering the BraufactuM beers I have tried before, this one is a bit disappointing, but nevertheless its still a great beer!

bottle from Braufactum.de. Cloudy orangey-golden colour, large white head. Lots of citrus hops in the nose. Full-bodied, smoth palate, malty base with tropicial fruit and citrus hop flavours. Not immensely bitter, yet pleasantly hoppy. Very nice.

The bottle looks again wonderful. Beer in the glass very turbid, deep orange, huge head. Aroma is yeasty with woody notes. Beer starts strong, but not alcoholic, quite yeasty with woody-bitter notes. Also quite fruity like apricot, sour apple and some lemon. Also some caramell hints. Finish well balanced, still quite yeasty, but with wonderful hoppy-bitter notes in the background, that are not too dominating. Very, very drinkable. Another great beer from BraufactuM! Thanks!

This BraufactuM bottle also looks very, very good. In this way a great beer has to be presented. Beer in the glass dark, but not black, nice head. Strong-malty aroma, modest alcoholic. Beer starts strong, malty, not too roasty, modest alcoholic, some fruity notes of plums and raisins. Also some caramell notes. Finish still strong-malty, intense, warming, modest sweet notes, but also some hints of bitter chocolate in the background. Well balanced and warming finish, wonderful soft-malty aftertaste. I really liked it!

Bottle looks again really good, edge of the label in mint green this time. Beer in the glass quite dark for a normal German märzenbier. And much more surprising: the aroma is wonderful smoky, roasty malty notes as well. The beer starts not as smoky as exspectedspicy notes are dominating, hints of caramell and sweet chocolate, modest nutty notes. Finish shows again this wonderful smoky side, not too roasted or bacon-like, soft-malty, warming aftertaste, modest sweet. What a great beer. I already love it and think I have to order more of it...

Bottle looks again wonderful. The beer in the glass is very zippy, small head. Starts strong, not as fruity as other kölschs, more hoppy-bitter. Bitterness is not too much, dominates the beer in a good way. Finish with some fruity notes of lemon. Finish well balanced, prickly. Tastes more like an IPA than like a kölsch I’d say.
