Sample at Rock Bottom San Diego. This brew is a clear golden-amber color with a compact off-white head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing. Light hops and bready malt in the nose. Light, effervescent body with mildly spiced hops and biscuity malt flavors. The finish is clean and lightly bitter with a short hops aftertaste. Average overall.

On draught at the San Diego location. This beer pours a dark orange-amber color with a thin and fizzy off-white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing. Medium body with mildly bitter hops flavors, with malty undertones. Notes of citrus here and there as well. The finish is lightly hopped with a vague spiced and citrusy aftertaste. Just average overall.

Draft at the San Diego brewpub. Nitrokeg. The chalk board put the alcohol at 5.25. Aroma of darkly toasted malt. Opaque brown/black color with a creamy beige/tan head. Flavor of dark, toasted, near burnt malts. Coffee bitter; chocolate notes. There is definite hop bitter, but it is too mixed with the coffee and toast for me to define it. Nice smooth finish, leaving that light burnt aspect. Really quite excellent.

Draft at the San Diego brewpub. Clean raspberry aroma. Brownish amber color with a white head that filmed. Medium body; light carbonation. Starts with raspberry, develops a bit of sour, brings up some dark caramel malt. Finishes rather dry, and has left over raspberry and arguably light hop bitter. Good, but one should last for quite awhile.

Draft at the San Diego brewpub. The chalk board put the alcohol at 5.6. Nutty dark malt aroma. Clear deep brown color with a creamy beige head. Thin to medium bodied; moderate, almost creamy, carbonation. Strong dark malt with light sour notes. Willamette hops. Finish is less than dry, and reasonbaly balanced. Final finish impact is dark roast malt with light hop.

Draft at the San Diego brewpub. The chalk board put the alcohol at 5.5. Light roasted malt aroma. Reddish amber color with an off-white head that laced. Medium bodied. Mild, creamy carbonation. Starts with sweet stone fruit, almost apricot. The roasted malt goes along for the ride. Claims a complex hop profile. Seems true. Nice bitter in the finish. Not a very amber amber.
