Now their idea has been given a home, so to speak – and the beer nomads have settled down a bit, because since 2018 the Nómada beers are being brewed in the pilot brewhouse of Mahou San Miguel's Alovera facility. This alliance with Mahou San Miguel (with a stake of 40% in Nómada) is intended to help the brand focus more closely on the Spanish beer market.

Bottled, BB 25/02/14, large sample. Hazy orange color, medium lasting off-white head. Aroma of biscuity malts, flowery hops, some grapefruit and citrus, pine, onion. Medium bitter taste, slight onion sharp. Bittering hops don’t seem to be ultraclean ones ore towards citrus, which is more my personal preference. It’s pretty bitter and pretty ok, but not my favorite (use of) hops.

Bottle from Taylor’s Market in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy light orange amber with a near-beige head. Nice hop aroma. Sort of floral/citrus. Full bodied. Moderate hop burn. Lots of hop. Guessing floral/citrus/resin. Maybe a hint of earthy. It’s a pretty tasty IPA.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, bb 08/05/2015, 12% ABV
Black color with small beige head. Medium aroma, with roasted malt, cardboard, iodine, phenol, soap; bread and biscuits later. Full bodied, the mouthfeel is quite round, a bit oily; quite good flavor of roasted malt and dark chocolate, very light peat, salty; correct bitterness, a bit resiny; an impression of lactose in the end.
Good, but somehow strange.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, 9.5% ABV, bb 12/03/2015
Black color, slightly overcarbonated, with giant compact brownish head. The aroma is linear, just roasted malt (6.5). It has a good body strength, yet the mouthfeel is quite lean; very good roasted malt and dark chocolate flavor, with light coffee and liquorice too; strong bitterness, with a lot of hop resins (like a Black IPA); some biscuits and pumpernickel in the end.
Vibrant.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, batch L341, bb Apr 2015
Dark brown color with almost no head. Soft aroma of roasted malt with hints of dark chocolate. Good body strength, but with lean mouthfeel; it lacks a bit of carbonation, but it’s also easier to drink; elegant roasted malts, with a touch of dark chocolate, a hint of coffee and a earthy vein; very British flavor, more malt character than yeast character as a Belgian would be; quite strong bitterness; roasted nuts in the final.
Very good beer, it may even deserve a higher score.
