Description
Founders Javier Aldea and Sami Claret have quite an out-of-the-ordinary corporate philosophy: they’ve been brewing beer without a brewery of their own – rather, they’ve been travelling the world as beer nomads and produced their creations together with craft-beer buddies elsewhere.
Now their idea has been given a home, so to speak – and the beer nomads have settled down a bit, because since 2018 the Nómada beers are being brewed in the pilot brewhouse of Mahou San Miguel's Alovera facility. This alliance with Mahou San Miguel (with a stake of 40% in Nómada) is intended to help the brand focus more closely on the Spanish beer market.

Bottle Orange/amber colour with an off-white head with a nice lacework and perfect lasting. Aroma is fruity, notes of resins and pine, tropical fruits are highly present, good maltiness and slightly caramel. Flavor is quite similar, with a good compensation between the alcohol and the fruity notes, tropical fruits, malts, caramel, notes of tangerina, orange peel and slightly citrus are present. The final has a a decent bitterness with a good duration, no astringency. Smooth and creamy on palate results very drinkable.

Bottle at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a broken bubbly white head. The aroma is rich, malty and a little papaya. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with lots of liqourice, fruit, malt and heart warming alcohol on the super smooth palate. One of the best DIPA’s I’ve ever had.

Bottled, BB 12/03/15, large sample. Dark color with initally huge brown head, later on a remaining medium frothy head. Aroma of cookie, dark chocolat, roasted malts, loads of coffee, oats?, loads of licorice, laurel. Quite full bodied with coffee and licorice, roasted malts. It’s a bit high on carbonation, I’d love to have a bottle that has less carbo, cause that could be an absolute stunning beer. This one has a bit too much carbo that dries out on the tongue instead of leaving that velvety and creamy chocolatey finish that it could have.

330ml bottle. Cloudy orangey golden colour with huge, creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Piney hop aroma with hints of mandarine and orange, some passion fruit, caramel malty basis with a touch of almond. Taste is minimally bitter, fruity hoppy, some passion fruit, a piney touch, minimally sweet caramel malty basis with hints of almond; minimally sticky palate. IPA with all in all harmonic balance , relatively accentuated on the malty side compared to other specimen of its style.

Bottled, BB 25/02/14, large sample. Hazy orange color, medium lasting off-white head. Aroma of biscuity malts, flowery hops, some grapefruit and citrus, pine, onion. Medium bitter taste, slight onion sharp. Bittering hops don’t seem to be ultraclean ones ore towards citrus, which is more my personal preference. It’s pretty bitter and pretty ok, but not my favorite (use of) hops.
