440ml can from Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured almost black in colour with a very short-lived, frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt and cherries. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, sour fruit, with a smooth, rich, roasty, juicy tart cherry, light chocolate, liqourice bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. I’d hoped for a beer with subtle cherry notes, but this was full-on , right in your face cherry and it was impossible to smell or taste anything else. Great if you love cherries, not so great if you don’t!

440ml can from Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy golden light orange colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, mango, peachy. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, somewhat rich, fresh, juicy mango, passionfruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can, APOD. Opaque brownish orange with a near cm of white head. Aroma of oranges and various other citrus fruit, tropical fruit, wheaten crackers. Fruit flavours are more expansive upon a swig - cross spectrum citrus, apricot, peach, mango. Dryish at the end with enough bitterness to make a finish, hints of twigs and astringency.

Can. Clear gold, a 3/2 cm white head that lasts well. Aroma of mandarin nicely underpinned with some grapefruit, crackers, Meyer lemon peel. Dryish with lots of bright, pithy citrus before a snappy bitter finish. Straightforward but refreshing and tasty.

Bottle from Gulating. Slightly unclear golden body with a big, stable, white head. Aroma is citric fruity with some lemon and distinct acidity. Flavor is quite pleasant and very refreshing, sour citric fruit, lime, slightly floral and mild pale malt. Medium body and dry, sour aftertaste. Very nice with some originality, don’t think the ants has something to do with that, but it’s definitively a buzz.

Can @ Burger Bordello. Pitch black body with a medium sized tan head. A bit weak in aroma, dark malt, light roasted, milk chocolate and lactose. Flavor is quite sweet, smooth dark malt, light and soft roasted, milk chocolate, some bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Quite decent milk stout but a bit unusually (but not weird) at the same time.

Can. Misted gold, modest but dense white head. Fruity and funky aroma with grapes, lime, crackery dough, spiced oak. Then neither as lean nor as bitter as expected but stone fruit and grapes keep it light with just a touch of sourness and oak. I like that it doesn’t seem contrived, just itself.

375ml bottle from Benny’s place, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a mostly clear dark brown colour with a thin, broken off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, smoky salty bacon. The flavour is light liqourice bitter, salty, with a smooth, rich, roasty, chocolate, liquorice, boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. Very drinkable. Didn’t get any cabbage :-)

Bottle. Clear mid brown, a pale beige head fades quite swiftly. Aroma of caught caramel, lemony sour funk, twig, spices. Lovely soft creamy texture over sour, funky and smoked body.Lemon, pine and/or juniper. Hard to say whether it's a little bitter at the end. Very nice - sometimes GP don't succeed out of their bailiwick but they do here.
