0.3 l on tap at the brewpub. Slightly hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, moderately yeasty-spicy and a bit bready aroma of banana, cloves and wheat. Slightly sweetish, rather yeasty-spicy and a bit chalky taste of banana, lots of clove, wheat and a touch of bread, followed by a short, slightly bitter, fairly yeasty-spicy and minimally sourish finish with faint hints of cooked vegetables. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent, classic Weizen.

Kräftig herber Beginn bei mittelstarker Bitterkeit. Angenehm hopfig, hefig, etwas holzig. Die Bitterkeit steigt zum Mittelteil an, die Hopfigkeit nimmt eher ab. Ruppig, dennoch süffig. Hintergründig mild fruchtig-hopfig. Nett. 9/10/9/10//9

(tap at the brewpub) Almost cloudy, murky amber colour with a firm and small off-white foamy head. Yeasty, mildly fruity hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit, citrus, also cautious piney notes, accompanied by a mildly malty background. Moderately bitter flavour, almost slim bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Slightly doughy malty base with present herbal, resiny and fruity hops; dry and bitter hoppy and quite lasting piney hoppy finish. Good. 30.IX.16

(tap at the brewpub, as Benno´s Dunkel) Almost cloudy, amber colour with a short and firm off-white foamy head. Slightly yeasty, delicately toasty malty aroma with doughy spots and delicately nutty notes. Slightly sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Slightly toasted and cautious nutty malty taste with traces of caramel and a very subtle hops profile, except for some shades of herbal spice; slightly sweet and delicately tart and toast-malty finish with subtle herbal hops in the background. Just okay. 30.IX.16

(tap at the brewpub) Hazy, pale golden colour with blonde and firm mid-sized foamy head. Delicately yeast-spicy and slightly grainy malty aroma with notes of grassy and herbal hops. Quite bitter flavour with a subtle malty sweetness, light to medium bodied, crispy on the tongue. Dry and mildly yeasty, delicately grainy malty base with a good hops presence, including herbal and grassy accents, lingering into the dry and hop bitter finish. Well-made Zwickel-Pils. 30.IX.16

Bananiger, trocken herber Antrunk. Milde helle Würzigkeit, geringe Süße im Mittelteil. Minimal bitter, spritzig. Hopfig werdend, unbockig. Zum Ende etwas weniger hefelastig. 9/10/9/9//9

Vom Faß in Witten: Cloudy, dishwater-like coloured, medium-sized and lacy off-white head; mild traces of alcohol in the delicate fruity-malty and yeasty nose, some tame grassy-herbal in the background; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, fizzy, medium bodied; slightly lingering , relatively dry, bitter-sweet finish, again with hints of alcohol. More an Imperial Pils than a real Doppelbock. All in all disappointing...

On tap at the brewpub. Murky, dark brownish amber with a frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, grains and some straw. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy taste of caramel, grains, marzipan, some clove and hints of straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, almost creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, not really Bock-like though.
