33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Kerkdriel. Pitch black with a small off-white head. Smoky roasted malts aroma with some hops and some sweetness. Taste is sweet with a light tart touch. Alcohol is quite well hidden, giving a warming sensation. Body is a bit thin for such a big beer.

0.33 l bottle from 'Mitra' (Den Bosch), brewed in November 2016. Clear, very dark red to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, malty, slightly fruity, a bit yeasty and a little roasty aroma of dark chocolate, raisins, prunes, caramel and a touch of blackcurrant. Quite sweet, malty, slightly roasty, relatively fruity and a bit yeasty taste of caramel, raisins, prunes, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, some coffee and a touch of licorice, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and a bit yeasty finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Interesting cross-over of a Stout and a BSA/Dubbel, relatively complex, pretty well-balanced and smooth. Unexpectedly good!
