The beer is dark brown and cloudy. Smallish beige head. Some lacing. Light toasted malt aroma. Light molasses, toasted bread. A bit nutty. Fairly dry in taste. There’s more of that nuttiness on top of a light caramel note. Some nice toasted breadiness to it. Packs a good bit of flavor for 3.5% abv. Easy to drink. Light feel. Good stuff.

On tap at Hog’s Apothecary. It pours a semi clear golden yellow color with a nice creamy, fairly large white head. The aroma is full of citrus and tropical fruit. Grapefruit, mango, pineapple and light notes of sweet bread and flowers. The flavor is snappy with a little more herbal leafiness than I noticed in the aroma and slightly less fruity. A little dank. Medium bitterness, low for the style. Crackery, bready malts in the background with light bready, fruity sweetness. Cellarmaker of the East Bay!

On tap at Caps & Taps. It pours a lightly hazed yellow gold color with a creamy white head. The aroma is ready with light notes of lemon/lime. Some kiwi. The flavor has nice subtle notes of lime and kiwi with a bread malt backbone with hints of spicy hops. Lots of lemon/lime in the finish. Dry and light bodied. Really nice. The aroma is a bit weak, but I loved the bread malt backbone. Reminds me a bit of a De La Senne hoppy beer.

On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours black with a small brown head. The aroma is very rich and heavy with roasted malt, a little chocolate and smoke. The flavor is awesome. Lots of smoky roasted malt, some lightly sweet caramel and a good amount of tobacco and black currant. A little cocoa and heavy on the roast in the finish, but not at all acrid. Very smooth and velvety/creamy on the palate. So good. This reminds me a bit of HF Everett.

On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours a very pale golden color with a white head. The aroma is strong with melon, passionfruit, peach and mango. The flavor is pretty much the same with melon, white peach and some solid floral bitterness. Pretty dry with only a touch of caramel malt. A super solid first beer from these guys.
