On tap at Wren House, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma has huge vanilla beans and coconut upfront, with plenty of dark sugars. Flavour is ridiculously rich, with intense vanilla beans and stupid amounts of coconut, backed by sweet dark sugars. Over-the-top, but the vanilla and coconut character are so good that it's forgivable. Tasty, extreme, but totally inelegant, non-BA pastry.

On tap at Wren House, pours a clear pale golden yellow with a small white head. Quite the hop bill on this — let's see what gets expressed. Aroma has tangy citrus hops, subdued earthy dankness, and lightly sweet malts to back. Flavour is weird, with almost a tart citrus hop character, some dankness, light pine, and soft bready malt to back. Chinook is amongst my favourite WC hop, and Nelson is my favourite hop in general; but the combo of these, plus all the other hops, ends up being a bit jumbled and questionable. This isn't quite working for me.

On tap at Wren House, pours a filthy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is extremely sweet and candy-dominated, with tons of caramel candy dominating — like I'm sniffing a Caramilk. Flavour seems like it should be cloyingly sweet but it's not: there's definitely lots of caramel and chocolate, but the sweetness is kept in check. Impressive, really. It's not really what I seek, but it's done well.

On tap at Wren House, pours a clear dark amber / burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma is gentle, with toasted bready malt and a touch of English hops. Flavour is rather metallic, with dry bready malt, pronounced bitterness, and more metallic notes. Dry, bitter, and metallic finish. Not quite on-point. It's alright.

On tap at Wren House, pours a deep dark red-tinged brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dry, woody and malty, but not hugely expressive given the gravity. Flavour is certainly bolder, with big, dry, caramely, bready malts, some wood, and toasted bread crusts. Huge maltiness that dominates. There's some booziness but it's fitting. Very tasty. Certainly more interesting than anything I had in Dusseldorf earlier this year.

On tap at Wren House, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of piney and resinous hops, citrus zest, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is biting and bitter, with lots of piney hops, light oily resins, bitter citrus, and just enough thin biscuity malt to hold it together. Very good.

12/11/2024. Can shared by SHIG, cheers! Pours black with minimal head. Aroma is rich, fruit cake, roasted malts, woody, bourbon, dark chocolate, cherry liquor, caramel, vanilla, rye and a hint of bounty bar. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness, light warming alcohol. Full bodied, very smooth, soft carbonation. Very sippable, and dangerously drinkable.

16 oz. can. Pours a murky, dark orange color, with a small, bubbly, off-white head. The aroma is peach, straw, grapefruit, white grapes, and wheat. Sweet and juicy, with a mellow, musty bitterness. Medium to heavy body, pulpy, and a bit acidic. Nice, fruity, and tasty.
