Description
Offering unique hop-forward ales, crisp lagers, barrel-aged rarities and one of the Northwest’s most extensive wild & sour programs, Block 15 produces a range of artfully crafted beers, brewed with a nod toward fresh ingredients and fresh thinking.

We began serving up fine beer and food at our downtown Corvallis brewpub in 2008, and have since opened up a European-style pub—Caves Bier & Kitchen—as well as the Block 15 Brewery & Tap Room in south Corvallis. We are proud to have remained brewer-owned from day one.

Our 20bbl production brewery, built in 2015 and located in the shadow of the coastal range in south Corvallis, is the workhorse of our brewing operations. In addition to an increased-capacity brewhouse, our production brewery houses custom-designed Uni-tanks, a custom-fabricated mixing tank, a Meheen bottling line, and a Wild Goose canning line.

16 oz. can, pours a hazed golden orange with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of dankness, light pine, and bready malt. Flavour is fairly dank, with intense pot-like hops, pot, resinous oils, and a gentle sweet bready malt base. Dank, resinous, oily finish. Excellent.

16 oz. can, pours a hazy dull golden with a medium white head. Nose reveals a nice mix of tropical fruits, gummy candy, piney hops, and soft bready malt on the underside. Flavour is moderately bitter, with piney hops, light fruitiness, again some gummy candy (the Strata, I presume), and a touch of allium. Finishes light-to-moderately bitter and mildly fruity. Well-made if not one of the less bright Block 15 IPAs. Good stuff.

16 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma bursts with allium-style hops, with maybe a bit of the cat piss one got more of from earlier Citra, along with light pine and biscuity malt. Flavour is even more pleasing, with lots of cat pissy hops, a nice lemony hop tang, some pine, and a crisp biscuity malt base. I don’t usually like modern Citra’s expression, but this is definitely an exception—count on Block 15 to do that. Excellent westie.

16 oz. can, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma has some gummy candies, citrusy hops, resins, and bready malt. Flavour has plenty of gummy candies in the hop expression, with light piney bitterness, citrusy notes, and bready malt. The structure is good, revealing lots of gummy candies and very subtle bitterness. Fruity, good balance, though not the best hop expression. Good.

473mL can. Pours clear golden blonde with a slight haze and a white head. Light pine, ripe tropical fruit, some dank oils on the nose. Flavour has grassy pine, some dry tropical fruit, dank oils, a bit woody, gummy candies. It's clean with good hop expression, but I'm just not sure I love this hop.
