Offering unique hop-forward ales, crisp lagers, barrel-aged rarities and one of the Northwest’s most extensive wild & sour programs, Block 15 produces a range of artfully crafted beers, brewed with a nod toward fresh ingredients and fresh thinking.

We began serving up fine beer and food at our downtown Corvallis brewpub in 2008, and have since opened up a European-style pub—Caves Bier & Kitchen—as well as the Block 15 Brewery & Tap Room in south Corvallis. We are proud to have remained brewer-owned from day one.

Our 20bbl production brewery, built in 2015 and located in the shadow of the coastal range in south Corvallis, is the workhorse of our brewing operations. In addition to an increased-capacity brewhouse, our production brewery houses custom-designed Uni-tanks, a custom-fabricated mixing tank, a Meheen bottling line, and a Wild Goose canning line.

16 oz. can, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fairly restrained, with gentle citrus hops, some bready malt, and a touch of hops. Flavour is somewhat befuddling in hop expression – I have almost no experience with Erebus; the beer structure is good, but the hops don’t shine like I want. Finishes fairly bitter but not too vibrant. It’s good, but clearly held back by the hops.

473mL can. Pours clear pale gold with a white head. Floral, slightly piney hops on the nose. Flavour has citrus peel and crisp, juicy tropical fruit character. Nice bite. This tastes well-made, but the hops aren't giving any distinct character to the beer.

On tap at Loyal Legion - PDX, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has some strange tartness, molasses, and tart dark fruits. Flavour is full of molasses, tart dark fruits, and alcohol. Pungent molasses dominates, though I can’t shake the tinge of perfumey booze that lingers. Decent.

On tap at Uber Tavern, pours a deep dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma has lots of chocolate, with a toasted malt base. Flavour has dry cocoa, toasted malt, and a touch of earthiness. Chocolatey, dry and well-constructed. Solid.

Can from somewhere along our Oregon trail, possibly The Beer Mongers. Aroma is dank resinous hop with grapefruit, ripe orange, sturdy biscuity malt, with plenty of rich pine resin. Above moderate sweet flavour with a bitter finish. Body is above medium. Yes, wonderful big resinous hops and sweetish tropical fruits, tasty IIPA.

Bottle from Hopt, bottled fall 2015. Aroma is spicy estery yeast, soft honey, grainy malt, notes of ripe fruits, citrus, flowers, some caramel, light bubblegum hop and stone fruits. Fairly sweetish with a light tartness. Body is medium. A bit sweet and lacking dryness, but aroma has plenty going on. Tasty.

16 oz can, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is tangy as hell, with white wine-like hops, gooseberry, pine, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour expresses the NZ hops beautifully, with tons of white wine tang, piney hops, gooseberry, and a crisp, dry biscuity malt base. Vibrant tangy hops on the finish. Beauty.
