Bright copper colour, with slight haze, and compact head. The aroma is moderately biscuity and herbal. Smooth, full bodied, with dominant malt, a bit cereally, biscuity; the hopping is herbal and resinous.
I prefer more modern (lighter colour) interpretations of the West Coast style, but this one is well made.

On tap. Pours a clear amber with moderate head. Aromas of grainy malt with a little fruit Flavors follow same with a little bitter resin to finish. Volume pub beer.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy red with a medium, fizzy, short lived, pink head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of grainy wheat malt, blackberry and raspberry. Sweet flavour of grainy wheat malt, raspberry, blackberry, earthy yeast and floral hops in a crisp, dry, sour finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Tasty and refreshing.

473ml can. Pours a hazy copper-amber with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Mild, sweet aroma of bready caramel malt, blood orange, grapefruit and floral hops. Sweet flavour of bready caramel malt, grapefruit, blood orange, pine resin and floral hops in a dry, bitter finish. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and average carbonation. Malt forward and a little muted. Probably would have been a lot better if I had this fresh. As is, just ok.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold-yellow with a small, fizzy, short lived, white head that fully dissipates. Aroma of grainy malt, lime, green apple, white wine and earthy yeast. Sweet flavour of pale malt, lime, lemon, green apple and white wine in a dry, tart finish. Light body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Refreshing and easy to drink, but a little too subdued for a beer with a killer whale as the label.

Sweet fruity flavour of bready caramel malt, orange, grapefruit peel, peach, mango and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter, hoppy finish. Light body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Refreshing and crushable.

Sort of a pale amber colour, bright, but lifeless, with no head. I have to say I agree with Dean here - I've known people who drink only ghetto white and this comes across that way. Like a ghetto white mixed with some flabby malts. On the palate, I like it better. It still has a bit of that cheap white character, but that vinous note is a bit snappier, as the acidity comes in a touch. Still some biscuity unfermented malt that leaves a bit too much of an impact, but it's better on the palate.
