Description
We are OMNIVAR, a Slovenian family-owned microbrewery established in 2017. What began as a passion project by a group of beer-lovers who were tired of drinking the same old uninspired beers, has grown into a microbrewery driven by innovation and flavor. We develop our own recipes, which we have refined over the course of five years, and brew small craft batches by hand. We have a selection of eight beers that we brew regularly. Within the selection there is a variety of flavours to accomodate to different tastes and occasions.

Note: Own production ceased in 2023/24. Only contract production for others from then onwards.

Thanks to djoeye for sharing a 500ml bottle. One-finger thick, white head, misty warm golden body, clingy lacing. Moderate smell of pale malts and dusty hops. Saison fruity flavours, hints of yeast and mid-sweet malts. Notes of half-dry bitter fruits to the ending. Just alright. (Session with Finn and djoeye, PivotekaH7, Tromsø 23.07.2018).

Thanks to djoeye for sharing a 500ml bottle. A rocky off-white head remaining over a clear amber coloured body. Patchy layer at the top. Mid-sweet floral fruity aromas. Caramel fruity flavours with yeast esters. Rounded ending. Rather strange version of the style. Accepted. (PivotekaH7, Tromsø 13.07.2018).

Bottle, 0.50l. Aroma of caramel, mandarine, orange, flowers and herbs. Pours cloudy amber color with large soapy tan-like head, nice lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel, following is citrusy, grassy and toasted, mouthfeel is almost astringent, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Not a sissy at all...

Pours deep black, topped with medium sized, coffee coloured head, slowly settling down. Medium roasty nose upfront, some bready notes and later on dry fruits and medium smokiness (woody). Taste follows the nsoe, roasty-smoky feela bit more pronounced, a hint of chocolate sweetness and mild bittery finish. Alcohol is superbly hidden, almost no trace of it. Body is full and silky. Very lovely, with smokiness just present enough to make in impact, but at the same tame mild enough to not take over.

Tap at Opatovina Beer Fest. Opaque yellow, white head. Funky saison aroma, sweetish, cloves, mild banana. Smooth taste, citric, mildly peppery-phenolic, somehow juicy, touches of salty pear juice (?!) but excellent really. Atypical but very nice!

Taste starts light sweet biscuity with refreshing fruity and grassy following, crisp mouthfeel and pretty bitter finish. Light to medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Tap at Makarska Connexion@Opatovina. Thanks Vran! Murky amber-red, beige head. Lovely aroma. Rye, honey, light, dry. Too light, dry, flat taste, if nice, more rye and honey. Expected slightly more.

On tap at Makro Beer Fest, Ljubljana. Pours dark coppery, just slightly hazy, topped with thinner and nonlasting beige head. Malty biscuits nose, gentle yeast and mils spices. Noticeable dry fruits, figs. Medium full body, gently sweet at the start, moderate spiciness with medium bitterness in the end. A bi soury grainy feel in the finish. Lasting aftertaste. Gentler and lighter body.

On tap at Croatian Homebrew Competition 2018. Pitch black coloured, medium sized creamy beige head, caramel and dried fruits in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruits and notes of prunes and alcohol with sweetish roasty finish. Quite nice.
