About
We are OMNIVAR, a Slovenian family-owned microbrewery established in 2017. What began as a passion project by a group of beer-lovers who were tired of drinking the same old uninspired beers, has grown into a microbrewery driven by innovation and flavor. We develop our own recipes, which we have refined over the course of five years, and brew small craft batches by hand. We have a selection of eight beers that we brew regularly. Within the selection there is a variety of flavours to accomodate to different tastes and occasions.

Note: Own production ceased in 2023/24. Only contract production for others from then onwards.

Bottle, 0.50l. Aroma of dried fruit, figs, syrup, caramel and yeast. Pours cloudy dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet and sour dried fruit and yeast, follows by burnt sugar and toasted malt with medicinal note, mouthfeel is warm and spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Celebrating national culture day with a beer named after greatest Slovenian poem. I feel proud and better than after reading a book...

Bottle, 0.50l. Aroma of caramel, dried fruit, marmalade and gentle bourbon note. Pours hazy dark brown color with medium sized creamy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel, follows by fruity acidity, grassiness and toasted maltiness, mouthfeel is smooth and warm, while finish is pretty bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Well done...

Pours very pale, golden-yellow colour, topped with huge and very frothy white head, very lasting. Pleasant hoppy notes with citruses and tropical feel, wome typical wheaty banana notes in the back. Taste shows some medium hoppy bitterness in combination with milder, slightly peppery spiciness. Much more present citrusy character in the finish. Strong carbonation level. Sparkly. Fresh and refreshing. Not my favourite, but still pretty decent.

Pours pitch black, topped with a smaller beige ehad, non-lasting. Pretty intense roasted aroma, almost a bit burned with some coffee, vanilla, chocolate and gentle coconut. Taste starts gently sweet with chocolate and vanilla, moderate bitterness and roasted aftertaste, lasting and pretty present. Creamy and full body. A bit more on the burned side, but not unpleasant. Niceo ne and dangerously drinkable due to superbly hidden alcohol.

Amber colored, clear, medium off white soapy head, bit overfoaming. Aroma is of malt, caramet, bit toast, some dried fruit and fruity and citrusy light+ hoppy aroma. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, some toast, bit fruity notes, light+ citrusy and fruity hops, light+ bitterness, dryish finish, bit bready yeasty. Medium- bodied, average carbonation.

On tap at Ljubljana Beer & Burger Festival, April 2018. Hazy golden, firm medium to a huge creamy off-white head. Starts grainy, yeast profile develops, light citrus. Lightly to moderately yeasty flavours, esters, peach, banana, citrus. Medium body, moderate carbonation, moderate finish, lively and refreshing. Very intense esters, reminds of a wit at times.

On tap at Ljubljana Beer & Burger Festival, April 2018. Murky dark brown, small lasting tan head. Roasty and toasty, light dark chocolate, red fruit and dried fruit, brown bread, no hops. Nice roasty profile, dry, sweet as dried fruit and caramel. No hop flavour. Creamy texture, medium to full body, light dry finish. Not as complex, very dry. Serious beer.

Clear, amber-red colored, medium beige creamy head, long lasting. Aroma is caramel, toasty, bit toffee, dried fruit, some herbal-floral hops. Taste is medium+ sweet, caramel, toffee, toasty, dried fruit, some floral hop, medium bitterness, some bread, notes, bit alcohol. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily.

On tap at Pivo in Burger Fest, Ljubljana. Hazy pale golden, medium, frothy, firm, lasting white head, lacing. Aroma is mostly spicy, herbs, lemon dessert, light pineapple! Some phenols in the flavour, some banana, malted wheat. Light body, soft carbonation, soft slightly chewy texture, moderate spicy finish. Some mistakes can be resolved to get a nice spicy wit.
