Description
We are OMNIVAR, a Slovenian family-owned microbrewery established in 2017. What began as a passion project by a group of beer-lovers who were tired of drinking the same old uninspired beers, has grown into a microbrewery driven by innovation and flavor. We develop our own recipes, which we have refined over the course of five years, and brew small craft batches by hand. We have a selection of eight beers that we brew regularly. Within the selection there is a variety of flavours to accomodate to different tastes and occasions.

Note: Own production ceased in 2023/24. Only contract production for others from then onwards.

15 August 2018. At Sir William's Pub, Ljubljana. Cheers to Anke!
Pours hazy black with a lasting, frothy, unstable, beige head; some lacing. Inviting aroma raisin, praliné, milk chocolate, salted peanut, caramel, brown bread, candied fig. Medium malty sweet onset, notes of chocolate & mocha with a peanutty edge; light roasted bitter middle with hints of fondant & coffee, although remaining creamy and even a bit fruity & raisin-like. Dryish, toasty finish, good touch of peppery hops, lingering cream & chocolate, warming coffee liqueur alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Balanced & tasty; surely one of the best beers on this trip; a must-try when in Ljubljana!

15 August 2018. At Sir William's Pub, Ljubljana. Cheers to Anke!
Pours hazy yellow, no head. Aroma of peach, nectarine, papaya, passionfruit & mango, faint bread & dough. It tastes medium fruity sweet, quite tropical, hint of peach, and light hoppy bitter, bit grassy & orangey; lemony touch. Dry, floral & fruity hoppy finish, lingering dough & fruity yoghurt. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Good, perhaps a bit too subtle.

Pours hazy coppery, dark-chestnut brown, topped with medium sized beige head, pretty lasting. Gentle yeasty nose upfront, with some very gentle dry fruits coming forward and they fully breathe way later on. Taste starts gently sweet, taken over by medium bitterness together with yeasty character. Finish is peppery and slightly soury grainy. Lighter body, higher level of carbonation - fresh feeling. Not too bad, just not something I'd love. Missing some more pronounced dry fruit character as well.

Taste is medium sweet, some malt, spicy yeast, medium spicy peppery bitterness, some fruity notes, dry finish. medium bodied, average carbonation, oily. Didn't really wow me as a saison. Thanks to djoeye for sharing a 500ml bottle. One-finger thick, white head, misty warm golden body, clingy lacing. Moderate smell of pale malts and dusty hops. Saison fruity flavours, hints of yeast and mid-sweet malts. Notes of half-dry bitter fruits to the ending. Just alright. (Session with Finn and djoeye, PivotekaH7, Tromsø 23.07.2018).

Thanks to djoeye for sharing a 500ml bottle. A rocky off-white head remaining over a clear amber coloured body. Patchy layer at the top. Mid-sweet floral fruity aromas. Caramel fruity flavours with yeast esters. Rounded ending. Rather strange version of the style. Accepted. (PivotekaH7, Tromsø 13.07.2018).
