Description
The first real malting statute was confirmed by the municipal council of Iglau, as the town of Jihlava was called till 1948, in 1579. In 1859, all 123 owners of brewing rights in the town and surrounding villages joined in a new brewery, the present Jihlava Brewery. The brewery in Jihlava was opened in 1861, but the brewery considers the year 1860 as the year of its incorporation. From its incorporation the brewery had mainly German owners. After WWII it was nationalised and then privatised in 1995. In 2008 the almost bankrupt brewery was bought by the Pivovary Lobkowicz group. Under the new owners the brewery returned to the production of beer according to old original recipes.

Bottle, 4.8%. Ok happy aroma. Clear dark golden colour. Good stable white head. The flavour is quite malty with a decent bready note and a clean bitterness.

Drożdżowy, słodowy, delikatnie ziołowy. Złoty, delikatnie zmetniony, lacing delikatny. Goryczka średnioniska, ziołowa. Za ciężki, zbyt drożdżowe, ale ogólnie ok.

Bottle 0,5ltr: Clear amber coloured brew with an sweet bitter taste and a lots of sweet caramel hints but never annoying. Bought this Czech beer at House of Goods, Gouda.
