Gravity cask at Pig’s Ear 2024 - Hackney. Pours clear copper with a sturdy, frothy off-white head. Lovely bready malt character, a little caramel, soft bitterness, a little earth and biscuit. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Balanced finish, restrained toasty malty sweetness. Sound.

Cask at Pig's Ear. Clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, a little thin but delivering decent fine minerally carbonation. Thin malts, a little watery toffee. Thin watery ripe fruits. Light finish. Easy drinking but it's apologetic in the flavour department.

440ml can from Vinny & Ted, Chalfont St Peter. Poured a hazy golden orange colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is malt, tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, with a smooth, rich, malt, peachy mango passionfruit, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Rather floral up front which dissipated after the beer got some air.

Keg draught at Cafe La Tazzina, York. Dark greenish gold and hazy. A slight white head on top. Kiwi fruit and clean laundry on the nose. Sweet taste with more light tropical notes. Apple and more kiwi in the finish. Does not taste anything near the advertised 10%. Medium body, little carbonation. So much to this.

Can bought at Anchor Tap, Horsham. Aroma has sweet edged praline with a sour milk streak. Black. Shiny. Thick foamy beige head. Initial burst of dark chocolate, coffee and tart berries. Followed by hazelnut and a vanilla edge. Long sweet and sour finish. Medium bodied. Oily. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Nice. Although the sour elements stop it from over emulating the Rocher.
