Description
Platform was founded in 2014 on the premise that collaboration should be at the cornerstone of everything that we do. Whether it be with pro brewers, the home brewing world or a variety of other industries, beer is special and should be shared.
From humble beginnings, brewing on a 3 bbl brewhouse in Cleveland, Platform has expanded to a second Tasting Room in Columbus, a Production Facility in Cleveland, a Cincinnati Tasting Room named LOCOBA and a Sour Beer Facility named Phunkenship

We brew high-quality craft beers for sale in our tasting rooms and distribute throughout Ohio. Expect a mix of ever-changing styles inspired by beer trends.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent seasonal release. Pours lightly hazy dark reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, apple, peppercorn, clove, caramel, honey, brown sugar, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of banana, toffee, chocolate, cocoa, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, honey/candi sugar, and dark/bready/light roast malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, apple, peppercorn, clove, caramel, honey, brown sugar, and toasted brown bread; with lighter notes of banana, toffee, chocolate, cocoa, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey/candi sugar, and dark/bready/light roast malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from yeast spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden, minimal warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an awesome Belgian strong dark ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey/candi sugar, and dark/bready/light roast malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV. Very impressive complexity, with great balance of yeast/malt flavors; never overly sweet or heavy feeling. A really enjoyable offering.
