Bottle, Barleycorns, Nantwich. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Fruity, floral aroma. Nice zesty hop flavour. Refreshing, lingering finish. Really enjoyed this.

500ml bottle from Reakt. Massive thanks to Ang for this. Marble Stouter stout was my beer of the festival at Reading so I was really looking forward to this. Plus having seen Mes_and_Sim’s rating of the cask version in Manchester. This, however, is full of diacetyl. Not sure which I dislike more, diacetyl or Islay whisky cask beers. Choc ginger butterscotch is an odd aroma. Bitter choc comes through which is good. Could be good but the diacetyl ruins it. Will re-rate if I see it again. Re rate at Chris o 2011 pre gbbf shindig. Good black malts lovely stout fullness in mouth. Lovely choc. Gorgeouz beer.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Slightly hoppy aroma. Black colour with dark brown edges. Intense malt aroma. That is a good stout. Good grainy choc and a lot of grapefruit hop. Just a great aroma. Intense flavours. Amazing and quite possibly my beer of the festival.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Very pale gold, lasting white head. Just a lovely aroma. Very drinkable tangerine jam flavoured beer. Superb especially at this ABV. A real great session beer full of flavour.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. The Marble beers really were a highlight of the festival. Clear dark orange colour with thin beige head. Flowery, earthy grapefruit. That’s an outstanding dry IPA. Fantastic aroma. Not bitter enough on the end maybe, but a stunning beer.

Cask, gravity Merton Summer Beer Festival, Thursday July 6th 2006 before the festival started restrospectively added from notes Pours black in colour with small bubbly head that siftyly departs. Nice rich indulgent bitter cocoa powder on the nose along with a touch of yeast. Taste is fruity but chocolate swishes through again, surprisingly this has a nice flurry of bitterness to finish off proceedings.
