500 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee and a hint of liquorices. Flavor is mild roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and dry fruit. Tasty and easy drinkable, well balanced porter in a lower alcohol range. Very nice when served at the right temperature (not cold).

Biggish offwhite head. Hazy yellow body. Dense mealy fruity rubbery grassy aroma, quite harmonic, with malty notes. Dry-sweet rubbery floral grassy taste with fruity bready notes. Sharp edge to it. A bit stale. Dry grassy aftertaste with chalky notes. Nice, but kölsch isn’t really my thing. (0.5l bottle from Fenaknoken.)

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 4.7%. Pale golden colour, fairly clear, only a faint haziness in the end. Decent white head. Fruity aroma (apples and citrus). The flavour is also fruity with some peppery hops. Like other kölsches it is a nice and refreshing beer, but not really very exciting. Might be a gateway beer for pale lager drinkers into the world of ales.

Rerate: Somewhat better flavour this time (I’m upping it a couple points), but this is still not the very best porter I’ve had. Original rating: 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Also kindly supplied to me by Ole R, from Fenaknoken, Oslo. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 4.7%. Black colour, with a big to moderate tan head, no lacing. Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, just a hint of liquorice. The flavour and mouthfeel are somehat acidic, watery / thin and bland for a porter, there is a moderate roastiness but not much else to interest me. Metallic finish. Disappointing.

Dark copper coloured beer, hazy, with a decent off-white head. The aroma has notes of wood, mild spices, caramel and a moderate and undefined fruitiness. The flavour is distinctly fruity, moderately acidic and slightly spicy, with notes of dark münchener malts. Moderate hops in the finish.

Nice aroma of American hops. The flavour has notes of orange marmalade and resin with a substantial hoppy bitterness, but it is not overdone. Medium sweetness. Grapefruity bitter and long aftertaste - and yngwie is right: there is actually a hint of camphor too!

500 ml bottle, many thanks to Ole_R. ABV is 4.7%. Golden colour, big and lasting head. Fruity aroma, notes of blackcurrants, some notes of malts and hay too. The flavour is biscuity and fairly dry, with noticeable fruity hops. Nicely balanced, quite enjoyable.

Biggish brown coarseish head does not last. Opaque dark brown body with a lot of yeast in it. Burnt coffee aroma with wheaty (or yeasty?) muddy chocolate notes and faint vinegar. Sweetish burnt chocolate taste with minty coffee notes. Soft, wheaty (or yeasty?) acidic notes. Aftertaste is the same, with peppery earthy notes. Very nice porter, and certainly impressive for the amout of alcohol. (0.5l bottle, Fenaknoken, Oslo. Rating adjusted later.)

Bottle. It pours a slightly hazy, yellowish golden body with a nice off-white head. Pale malt, a little grainy note and a little hint of cooked vegetables, as well as fruityness in the aroma. The flavor is malty and fruity as well, with some grainy notes, and canned tropical fruits. Quite sweetish, with a decent bitterness. Medium body. Grainy and fruity finish. It’s a quite nice beer, takes some time, but it gets better after a few sips. Would like it to have more power though, fuller and at 5.5-6% ABV would probably do much good to it. The flavor has a little flowery touch, else it’s grainy and fruity, and a bit low on bitterness. Some bitterness in the finish. Medium body, smooth and a bit high on co2 levels. A quenching on, very quenching, but a bit low on flavor. 100312

Bottle @ Thisted Tasting by Maria.. Unclear medium to dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, coffee dust, (like coffee beans from a piston coffee brewer). Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration.
