Description
The company was founded by Alastair Hook in 1999. He started the brewery in a small lock-up on an industrial estate, before moving to the Greenwich Brewery, and then to a site on nearby Blackwall Lane in 2010. It was purchased by SABMiller in May 2015. As part of the agreements made with regulators before Anheuser-Busch InBev was allowed to acquire SABMiller in 2016, Meantime was sold to Asahi Breweries of Japan in October 2016. Brewing moved to Fuller's in May 2024.

Old note. Dark brown color, coffee foam. Aroma: chocolate + sponge cake with vanilla and cocoa. Taste: burnt malt, caramel, chocolate, a little coffee, a little dried fruit and jam, drop of brandy, not bad.

[December 2021] Clear and golden with a bubbly white head and a soft citrusy nose. Moderately carbonated it's a little bit fruity, a little bit floral, a little bit malty and a little bit bitter --- Beer aliased from original tick of London Pale Ale on 13 Dec 2021 at 18:45 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5. Original review text: Pale amber with a frothy white head, and an aroma that balances sweet malt and grapefruit/lemon. Fairly heavily carbonated, there's citrusy bitterness and sweet biscuit malt coming through, the latter predominating

Draught: Poured a clear amber color ale with a white foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry resinous hops notes with light caramel malt is also noticeable. Taste is also a mix of caramel malt notes with some resinous dry hops with light bitterness. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Refreshing west coast style pale ale.
