About
The company was founded by Alastair Hook in 1999. He started the brewery in a small lock-up on an industrial estate, before moving to the Greenwich Brewery, and then to a site on nearby Blackwall Lane in 2010. It was purchased by SABMiller in May 2015. As part of the agreements made with regulators before Anheuser-Busch InBev was allowed to acquire SABMiller in 2016, Meantime was sold to Asahi Breweries of Japan in October 2016. Brewing moved to Fuller's in May 2024.

Bottled. Plain light black beer with a brown hue. The aroma is coffee and chocolate and the flavour is initially weak coffee then strong coffee. Overall it is a coffee drink therefore it does would it says on the label, whether it is a beer that will stand the test of time I don’t know.

Bottled. Very dark brown, small head. Rich coffee aroma. Dryish, roasty and medium bodied with lots of coffee flavour. A straight forward beer in the same style as the Czech Dum Kávové.

Orange beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly wheat beerish with a hint of banana, and the flavour is quite plainly bitter and banana. Overall quite a plain and not too refreshing wheat beer.

Bottled. Dark brown, dense head. Rich cocoa aroma. Surprisingly dry with short muthfeel. Dark chocolate dominates, but there are some late bitterness to balance it. A good dessert beer.

Raspberry Wheat from Meantime

A hazy pink beer with a fine white head. The aroma is simple - only containing raspberries. The flavor is sour from the wheat combined with sweetness from the raspberries.

Amber-tinged brown. Sweet vanilla & white chocolate aroma. Spritzy body, with a very sweet chocolate syrup note overlapping a thin instant coffee backbone. Lifeless finish.

Flat dark beer with a Strawberry Quality Street aroma, and a fruity chocolate flavour with a light bitter finish. Overall quite a plain beer for a chocolate ale.
