Description
Baeren Brewery is located in Morioka, Iwate prefecture which belongs in far north up from Tokyo Japan. We have some traditional and old vintage brewing equipment from southern district of Germany and carried here into Morioka. The traditional way of beer brewing still lives on here and Mr. Miyaki who got certificated as a Brewmeister in Berlin, Germany makes great and beautiful beers. The location of our brewery is perfect also for hiking because it is located near the center of the city and stands just by Route 4 but at the same time surrounded by a forest, which means you can easily and naturally feel the nature around.

Bottiglia.

Maybe not as tasty as the filtered. Still good though. Perhaps the hops shine through a bit more in the other one.

Baeren Hybrid Session Lager
Filtered 4.5%

Golden color with this white foam and a sweet grainy yet slightly herbal aroma. Light bodied and crisp with a sweet malty flavor and a mildly spicy herbal hop bite. The aftertaste finish is really nice but it feel it’s a touch sweet for my tastes.

Poured from the tap @ MBCC 2023 blue session (finally adding my notes). Clear blonde gold with small white head. Mild citrusy yuzu, the dry hopping doesn't meld here, ends up being a messy lager.

Bottle from the Autumn set. grassy, herbal nose, crisp pilsner malt, light citrus. Almost seems like Noble hops. Bit of dankness. Bright gold with a high, rocky head. Lovely pilsner malt flavor and body, biscuity, fluffy, bready, rich and tasty with big hops all around. Doesn't come off anything like an IPL. Maybe can be called a NZ pilsner, but really this seems like a fresh, crisp German Pils. Hits the nail on the head for me. Bracingly bitter finish, but not overdone, makes you always want another sip.

Baeren Extra Special Bitter 6%

Nice looking Amber orange with light orange-beige fizzy foam that didn’t linger. It has a nice malty caramel and biscuit aroma. Medium bodied with a semi-dry finish. The taste has toffee and tobacco leaf notes with a caramel biscuit malt base and slight herbal hops.

Enjoyable drop.
