Pours hazed blonde (as I poured the yeast in with it) to a light amber. Medium big, stable white head. Scent is BE yeast, more phenolic than estery though. maltyness is rather sharp here, not as smooth as I like in a tripel. Taste is very yeasty (phenolic, intense yet not off) . Malty (grainy) Medium bitterness. not to isoamylacetate (banana) forward, making this more of a Belgian Golden Strong ale than a tripel, accept for the clarity of course. Decent, but very generic.

Pale yellow and quite murky due to all the residual yeast. There's a definite sweet note of honey but not over the top.

33cl bottle from Comptoir des Fagnes beer store near Couvin in Belgium. F: medium, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: rich malty, light chocolate, bit coffee, dried plums, dark fruits, dates. T: medium malty base, light roasted tones, dark fruits, bit caramel, toast, coffee touch, green apples peels, soft carbonation, ok not bad, enjoyed but to be really good for the style still lack some complexity.

[bbd 01/2021] @home poured into tumbler. Cloudy pale golden coloure, good soapy white head, diminishing slowly, no lacing. Aroma wheat, citrus, light spicy notes. Taste light sweet and bitter, slightly acidic, citrus, grain, lemon. Taste continues in the short aftertaste, some cardboard, refreshing, thirst quencher, decent.

La Binchoise Spéciale Noël from 1994. No foam but still some soft carbonation. Sweet, notes of caramel, dried fruit and some oxidation. Not very great but still very decent and drinkable. Cheers!
