Tokyo Aleworks Devil’s Finger Red IPA 7% Apparently, made for the Shimokita Craft Beer Fest last fall. Great looking amber red with thick beige foam that lingers. It’s got a nice dank piney aroma with peppery sweet malt notes. Light bodied verging on watery but with a silky mouthfeel. Nice bitter pine, sweet malts with a tiny touch of zesty citrus. Nice stuff.

Tokyo Aleworks Well Chuffed Nitro English Pale Ale 4.5% 32 IBU Hazy orange-gold with dense white foam and a floral fruity hop aroma. Full bodied but not as smooth as I’d expect from a nitro beer. Malty sweet orange blossoms sums up my take on the flavor profile.

Tokyo Aleworks Where there’s a Pils, There’s a way DDH Pilsner 5.5% 25 IBU Beautiful clear gold with a nice tutti fruiti hop bouquet. Medium bodied with a scratchy carbonation and crackery pale malts added to yummy fruity hop goodness with great dryness. Nice stuff.

Tokyo Aleworks Maple Walnut Cookies Red Ale 5% 45 IBU Murky Amber gold with a HUGE sweet maple aroma. Medium bodied and silky smooth. The finish delivers on the walnut but maple is definitely the star of the show. Great fall beer. Taster at TASTY.

Canned. big pumpkin spice nose, with some coffee as well. Sweet, but not overbearingly so, lots of spice flavor, the lactose gives a latte feeling. Well done in a style I don't much care for.

Bottle at the July 2023 DC RB Tasting. Poured a kind of dark orange, hard to describe - orange liquor kind of orange, no real visible head to speak of to be honest. Aroma was very delicate, very light - some sweet grains, but it's very mild overall. Flavor was about the same. Light, very mild grains. Very light tea leaf, with some mild grain. Honestly tastes like it should be a lot lower than 8%.

12oz pours a clear caramel amber with a ring of white head. Nose has some grain and grist, butterscotch, treacle and sweet tea. Flavor has a clear buckwheat note, English yeast abounds, sweet tea. Almost too subtle. Weird. Finishes soft.

On tap at Tokyo Aleworks - Yurakucho, pours a clear copper golden with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a pungent, earthy and herbal hop character that isn't exactly my thing, with a bready malt base. Flavour is pungent as hell, with an earthy, herbal and pot-like hop character. Harsh and lacking cohesion in hop expression; tons of hops here but not the most appealing expression for me.

On tap at Tokyo Aleworks - Yurakucho, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of pot-like, oily, resinous hops, with a sweet biscuity malt base. Flavour is extremely oily and pot-like, with harsh, dank, pot-like hops, lots of oiliness, and a thin, sweet, biscuity malt base. A bit harsh—too much over-the-top pot. Good in small amounts but this is a difficult one to palate even for a hophead like me.

On tap at Tokyo Aleworks - Yurakucho, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out citrus hops, some earthiness, and bready malt. Flavour is bitter, with earthy and citrus hops, with a thin biscuity malt base. Bitter, crisp finish. Not the best hop expression but it's competent enough.
