Solid if no-frills Schwarzbier, offering up a toasted pumpernickel bread center offset by nuts-n-mocha notes and a mild roastiness. Underlined by red apple and a slight floral bitterness. Good.

Juicy as all get-out, with tons of pineapple, passion fruit, melon, mint, and chive notes, followed by a mild mineral bitterness and a subtle but telltale kveik tartness. Probably would be better with a more traditional yeast, but I'm not a fan of the kveik trend in general. Good regardless.

Very dry marzen, lots of toast and grain with underlying caramel and red apple notes, leading to an unexpectedly pronounced floral/pine bitterness on the finish. Not bad, but a little too crisp and hop-forward for the style.

Pretty great craft lager, soft and easy-drinking, starting with a mild grainy sweetness offset by grapefruit and lemon zest, and finished by a grass-tinged floral finish. Hints of apple, straw, and yeast accent the fade. Pours a beautiful gold with and endless white head and tons of lacing. Creamy, mellow texture makes for a fast-disappearing pint. Tasty as hell.

Biscuity and dry, with a resinous middle and a lasting bitterness in the fade. Hops provide grapefruit and lemon zest slathered in pine, with a lingering woody finish mixed with earthy notes and toasted grain. Clingy bitterness is a nice change of pace, and the Maris Otter gives a bready heft to the middle. Nice beer.

Draft pour at Dominion Wine and Beer. Poured a totally hazy, almost dull neon green/yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was a little west coast spin on a hazy IPA? Lemon balm? Bitter grapefruit. Coriander?

Once again confronted with the problem of giving ample lemon flavor to a style that tastes like lemon in the first place. Tart acidity verges into carbonated lemon juice territory, with a subtle grainy sweetness and mild lemon pith bitterness on the back end. Not bad, just redundant.
