Bottle from Tanakaya, about one month old. Pours hazy orange, at first nice thick head but very soon not much foam left. Nose is aggressively malty, even a bit astringent. Hay and some raw bitterness. Tastes malty, dry grassy bitterness plus some relatively light caramel body. Not very balanced. This hay and grass bitterness keeps lingering in the finish. Bit all over the place but still somewhat drinkable.

Bottle from Tanakaya, bottled less than 2 months ago. Pours with a massive frothy, big/bubbled foam head. Does not come down that fast, need to wait for a while before I can actually add a bit more and then take a sip. Nose has some light caramel, then some clothes-soaking water thing and super light nutty roast. Tastes salty, weird caramel salt, some bitter notes in the background. Yes, this is quite weird, not sure if the miso should be used in a beer this way. Some peppery spice notes come out in the end, body is messy, water does not feel clean. Then I start eating my spicy chicken stew - and wow, salty umami is neutralised by the heat and this beer just feels like toasty-nutty brown ale, nice one at that. So drink this with food and it works, drink it as it is and... meh, its vile.

hazy golden color. Biscuity, lightly hopped nose with oranges and peaches. Easy drinking good malt backbone, heavier than 4.5%, but well made.

sweet body. Orange and buscuit nose. Very malty, I couldn’t even say I recognized it as an ESB.

Keyaki Spring 2016. Light lemon and crackery malts on the nose. Grainy wheat on the palate with some light creaminess and some light spice. Feels more like a peppery blonde...almost saison-like in a way. Light, peppery finish. Enjoyable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Okazakijo on 15 May 2016 at 15:55 - Score: 7

Keyaki 2016 Spring. Slightly hoppy and fruity ESB and was tied for my favorite from these guys. Light pear and apple notes with some mild grassy hops and biscuity malts. Easy drinking with good flavors. Enjoyable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Ieyasu B on 15 May 2016 at 15:37 - Score: 7

Sprinig Keyaki 2016. Murky clay color with a half a finger of head. Red miso nose with some roasted malt. Way too salty on the palate with a heavy mud-like feeling on the palate. Finish is salty with heavy grain. Maybe I should have paired it with rice? Why even make this beer? Seriously. One of the worst at Keyaki Spring. --- Beer merged from original tick of Miso Korny on 15 May 2016 at 15:32 - Score: 3

Keyaki Spring 2016. Clearish golden copper with a finger of fluffy foam. Grassy aromas with a hint of citrus and caramel. Malt-forward on the palate with caramel and bit of toffee. Some pithy citrus bitterness on the finish. Not bad. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kimosabi on 15 May 2016 at 15:47 - Score: 6

Tap at Keyaki. Spicy nose of miso and various salts. Flat, salty, miso flavor. Strangely salty and a bit astringent. This does not work for me.

Tap at Keyaki. Cloudy orange color with lace. Great nose: Habaneros, smoke, oranges, peach, wheat. great blend of flavors too, the roasted peppers merging well with the smoky wheat. Finish is burning chilis, though not over the top. I usually hate chili beers, but this one is very well done and fun.
