Tap at LBK Craft in Nara. Okuyamato Beer Herbal Ale 5% My first beer from these guys. Matte gold with a wispy white head and a an orange peel and spice aroma (coriander/lemongrass). Fairly full bodied, it’s got a semi-dry finish and a slightly sharp carbonation. Sweetly floral with wheat, orange and spices. It’s very refreshing but the floral character does get a bit cloying.

Tap at the Nara Craft Beer Festival 2018. Not sure if this is the official name, as there was no sign. I was told it was their "Pale Ale," but also that it included bleaberries! Cloudy dull orange color with a purplish tint from the berries. Nose is blueberry, orange, apricot, with light biscuity malt. Creamy, silky flavor and body, berries, stone fruit, nice rich biscuity malt with a touch of chocolate and caramel. Nice and fun.

Tap at the Nara Craft Beer Festival 2018. Orange-golden color, cloudy. Nose is coriander, citrus, and wheaty biscuits. A bit sweet and heavy, also spicy. Not bad, but not as well balanced and interesting as their saison.

Tap at the Nara Craft Beer Festival 2018. Golden color with a light haze. Nose is Belgian yeast spice, herbs and lemon, lemon grass, crackery malt. Flavor is dominated by citrus and herbal notes, light crackery malt, some sweet biscuit too. A bit on the thin, crisp side, and the additives are surprisingly well managed and balanced except for a touch of astringency in the finish. I quite enjoyed it, though I would kick it up to 6-6.5% for a richer experience.
