On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of stone fruits upfront, with notes of kiwi and melon, along with pith, and biscuity malt. Flavour is wonderfully tropical, with lots of kiwi, stone fruits, resinous and piney hops, and biscuity malt to back. Wonderful complexity to this, with a pithy, tropical fruity finish. This is really excellent.

Draught at the brewery
Hazy red-amber color, small head. Mild fruity aroma, malt, durian. Puckery malt flavor, caramel; high acidity for this beer, strong pithy bitterness rather than hop quality.
Chaotic beer.

Med-dark brown. So really light for the style. Chocolate, and maybe a touch of toast. On the palate, quite different, more the rich, sweet, black sugar and charred fruitcake I want in an impy. Odd. Itβs served at the proper temp. Finish is sweet and sticky, but bitter, too.

Draught at St. Augustineβs, Vancouver
Dark mahogany color, near black; small head. Mild smoke aroma; the mouthfeel is dry and the flavor is based on roasted malts, some dark bread too, moderate smoke, and a bit too much acidity in the final.
Smoked Stout, ok beer.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out the peated, smoked malt upfront, followed by light toasted notes. Flavour is dominated by the peat, with a rather unpleasant ashtray character that dominates. Stale and ashy. This isn't good at all.

On tap. Pours a clear amber with full head. Aromas of pithy grapefruit, light tropical fruit, pine and toasted malts. Flavors of pine, bitter grapefruit, light fruit and dusty toasted malts. Clean and simple. Tasty.

Cask - Intense green leafy hoppy notes. Jet murky brown with a small beige head. Hoppy, sweet and woody with a long herbal, minty hoppy finish. Wood is there, but very much in the background. Like the gas beer, super hop forward.
