On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy dark golden orange with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out both English and American hops, with perhaps the American dry hops winning out. Flavour matches this exactly, starting out with robust English hops, a biscuity malt backing and ending on bitter west coast hops. Really nice blend of hops that complement. Great stuff.

On tap. Pours a dark amber with light foamy head. Aromas of caramel, orange marmalade, spruce, and toasted malts. Flavors of sweet malts, toffee, and pine. Simple but nice, and easy to drink; definitely not a hop bomb.

On Tap at Alibi Room. Pitch black with a light beige filmy head. It has a solid herbal/floral hop bouquet with decent roast coffee notes. The mouthfeel is rough & sharp. The taste is roasted malts, coffee a dash of cocoa or caramel and then a solid helping of floral and herbal hoppy goodness. A bit rough but nice, a solid black IPA.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a dirty opaque orangey brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is on the maltier side, with caramel malt, some citrus zest, and resin. Flavour confirms the maltiness, with lots of caramel malt, a rich resinous hop profile, and some residual sugars on the finish. Not usually a fan of these malty IPAs, but this is quite well-down. Solid beer.

Draught at Big River, Richmond
Cloudy blond color with orange hue, and compact head. Smooth Hefe, with 3 strong components that blend well: spicy yeast, wheat, bitterness; it also has a moderate fruity trace. The aroma is also a bit feety, but it doesn’t disturb.
Very solid example.

Hazy Amber color with creamy head. The aroma has light traces of yeast, sweat and butter. Caramelly flavor, lean, with strong resiny hopping, and an impression of vegetables in the final.
Very nice.

Cloudy red-amber color with compact head. Some fruity hop aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, fairly sweet, with caramel flavor, resiny hops, strong bitterness, a bit fruity, but also a trace of diacetyl.
Powerful, but I’m not fully convinced.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Nose is quite citric, with notes of citrus hops, Belgian yeast, and light spice. Flavour is dry and hoppy, with lots of citrus hops, bone dry biscuity malt, and a little spicy Belgian yeast. Fairly sharp on the finish, but well-constructed. For the hophead. Good stuff.

20oz
Cloudy blond color with small head. Fresh aroma, hoppy, citrusy, and tropical, and some sweaty hop. Lean mouthfeel, crisp, dry in the front, with violent hopping, very fruity, more resiny later, when the mouthfeel also gets a bit more mellow; strong bitterness; can’t find the promised grapefruit, but there is enough bitter orange and a touch of tropical fruits. Would score even a couple of points more if there were less harsh bitterness in the late final.
Good job.

Draught at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar (Waterfront) and Lions Pub, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color, vaguely reddish, with compact head. The aroma starts with some malt and Saison yeast, then a mild fruity note. Round mouthfeel; the rye flavor is evident, it has a lot of character, it blends well with the peppery yeast note, with the moderate residual sweetness, and the orangey hop fruitiness; hints of banana; quite high bitterness level, with a good amount of hop resins in the final. The carbonation is too much.
Heavy but nice.
