Description
Well guys, we just make beer. That’s it.

The public space at Brassneck, i.e. the Growler Shop & Tasting Room are designed to have you, our customers feel as though you are part of our process. The brew house & cellar wrap around the tasting room & growler shop putting you in the very heart of the Brewery.

We have a special type of liquor license. A Brewery Lounge. Patrons do not have to be seated as in many other Food Primary locations in Vancouver. This combined with our communal tables makes for a pleasant social environment.

We have a really tiny 10 Hec system, with an even smaller Nano system for batches of around 4 Hecs.

Even though our system is small, we have lots of different fermenters. 14 in total (including a beautiful oak fermenter called a Foudre). This allows us to brew lots of different beers on a constantly rotating basis.

We are ALWAYS experimenting with different beer styles. We are three & a half years old & we’ve already brewed about 120 different beers. From Barrel Aged Imperial Stouts to Corn Lagers, Sour beers to English Milds, Brett Primary Fermented Wheat Ales to Traditional Saisons, the scope of beer styles is endless & we intend to cover them all!

Our beer comes to you direct from the conditioning tanks in our cellar & sells out quickly, so it’s always fresh.

Conrad Gmoser is our Head Brewer & partner, aided by Jeff Leake & Scott Wannop.

We’re always evolving so get ready for more great beers as time goes by & we expand production & have greater capacity for experimentation.

On tap at The Magnet. Pours nearly opaque dull gold with a white head. Citrus peels and yeast on the nose. Flavour has citrus, pith, bitter peels, gritty mouthfeel, tons of hopburn. This is just a hazy shitshow, what a disappointment.

0,355l can at home. Canned 20.03.2025 black color, small coffee colored head. smells rum, earthy, spices, some soy sauce, peppery, some aromas. decent smell. full body, light carbonation. tastes spices, some soy sauce, some bitter chocolate, some sweetness, molasses, light maple, hints of banana. finishes light to medium sweet with notes of maple, banana and some molasses. gets a lot better once warmer. Rather heavy and sweet though. Not a bad beer, but also not a favorite.

Medium amber colour, bright. Medium head. Piney, bitter, nice biscuity malts with a hint of toffee. This is wonderfully hopped, with great complex malt support. Clean ferm. This is straight up quality.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a crystal clear gold colored body that supports a nice near white head of foam. The aroma offers up fruity esters, sweet bread, a dash of malt cotton candy. No hops in the aroma, eh? The taste delivers sugary malts, sweet light skinned fruity esters, a dash of corn and then mild spicy hop to maybe vague floral hops. Good beer. Comes up short on the Kölsch side though.

Poured from 473mL can. Hazy yellow with dissipating white head. Dull ripe citrus hops (like an orange that’s just getting moldy), oaty, lacklustre.

Poured from the tap @ Brassneck. Clear amber brown with small off white head. Floral piney hops with a soft chewy caramel malt. Enjoyable, but I feel like the others are overrating it because they are so starved for west coast bitterness. Very good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Very gentle peaches on the nose. Flavour has light peach juice and not much else aside from carbonation. No must or even acidity. Completely unidentifiable as a beer in this series, very disappointing.
