Basically a graf, could be a snakebite, but whatever it's a collab between Persephone and Brickers and it tastes mostly of cider, not much of beer, though maybe there's a touch of malt.

Straw colour. Herbaceous hops. Sweet malt. Lots of bitterness. Not bad, not as good as their past pilsners maybe but I got a can just to make sure.

473mL can, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Nose brings out the gentle dry hopping upfront, with lots of lacto underneath. Flavour reveals earthy hops upfront, with gentle sweetness and a big lacto-y palate. It's a cheap kettle sour with a decent hop character. Pretty useless creation really. Nothing special here.

473mL can, pours an opaque, filthy orange with a small white head -- looks terrible. Nose is very pithy, with lots of bitter orange rinds, citrus hops, and some tropical pitted fruit. Flavour follows suit, with a ton of bitter orange rinds, perfumey notes, alcohol, and some dank hops. The clarity is very poor, not revealing any pronounced or homed in hop profile other than just a confusing jumble of earthy, dirty bitterness. Not very impressive.

Can. Dark amber, with a kind of murky haze and not much head. Could look better. I get that in 2021 nobody cares about making beer look appetizing, but that's no excuse to get lazy because a pale ale like this should be vibrant and bright. I'm saddened by Persephone's recent decline in standards. The aroma is pine, citrus, caramel in an odd mash-up. Again, won't say that's appetizing and it's not much better on the palate. I think they're trying to cover up some diacetyl here, but to no avail, I still taste it. The base beer and this particular treatment don't go together well at all, and it's not the bright, balanced brew the label on the can talks about.

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Nose reveals toasted hazelnuts upfront, with some cocoa to complement. Flavour is creamy, with subtle hazelnut, cocoa and toasted malt. Earthy and muffled. The nitro isn't helping this. Muted, simple, and lacking depth. It's alright.

Pale yellow. Opaque. Bright hop aroma. Low bitterness. But nice apricot and pear fruit notes. I like the way they've coazed unique and tasty hop characteristics here. Once upon a time, a handful of brewers cared about making this style well, instead of making grassy trub with gloppy malts. This beer reminds me of those times. It's rare that a brewer actually tries not to suck when making a hazy IPA these days, and I'm appreciative.

So this is a cider made with lager yeast. Slight haze. Fairly thick head. On a cider. A thick head. Okay. Hilarious, it actually smells like an appley lager. Not as bad as the union made stuff, but in that direction. I guess because it's actually apple and not acetaldehyde. Tastes like slightly boozy apple juice. Ok, if that works for you.

Pale amber, just a touch of haze. Medium head. Sweet, not much brett. I mean maybe a bit of brett C, but overall not much funk, and way too much stickiness. That just means the brett hasn't awoken yet. Gotta put on the old patience hat, Persephone, and not release this beer before it's actually ready. Call me in May, please.

Very dark brown. Thick head. Nitro, so flat as hell. Low bitterness. That combination of low bitterness and nitrogen is absolutely not what this beer needs - just makes it flat, bland and sticky. This needs bitterness to bring out the hazelnut and chocolate, and ideally proper carbonation, for beer drinkers, not nitrogen for people who hate beer. So this comes up way short of what it could be. Aside from the lack of bitterness and serving it wrong, a pastry stout needs to be big to be effective. If you're going to remind me of Gold Foil, don't give me this neutered stuff.
