Dark brown color with small head. Strange aroma, some vegetables, butter, alcohol, tobacco, maybe some barrel. The body is lean; caramel flavor, some tartness, liquorice, wood, tannins.
Messy.

Poured from 12 fl. oz. bottle. Clear, very pale yellow with very minimal white head. Some light yeasty grain smells. Starts with a grainy taste with slight cream texture which immediately dissipates and tastes like water, leaving no finish whatsoever. Starts off below average and finishes even worse.

On tap at Brouwer's Caf, pours a dark orangey amber with a medium white head. Aroma of dry caramel malts, lots of dry hops and some dry red fruit notes - smells more like a hoppy amber ale. Flavour resembles more of a very hoppy imperial amber, with loads of dry caramel malts and dry resinous hops. Subtle sweetness in there to balance everything. Highly drinkable and well-balanced. Hoppy, but no bitterness lingering. Great stuff.

On tap for Hard Liver '12, pours an opaque vibrant orange with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel sweetness, dried fruits (apricots), and some floral hops. Flavour of floral hops, caramel, dried fruits and some booze. Quite light on the palate, though the booze stands out. Good.

Dark brown. The aroma is quite chocolatey. Sweet, oaty, and quite chocolatey again. Decent stout, tiny bit of acidity late.

On tap at GABF (listed as a Mild Ale and competing in said category). Pours with a hazed brown body with a tan head. Aromas are bready, nutty, grassy and a bit grainy. Flavors are grainy, toffee, caramel, nutty and bready. Medium bubbles. Decent sessionable malty beer.
